What a great place for a quick walk in nature! A little path up a wooded hill option, boardwalk around a beaver-dammed wetland. Great chance to see lots of different birds, bugs, turtles, etc. Nature center is nice if you get their when open. Restroom has always been open when we've been there. Great for kids.

Being in the winter season there is understandably less maintenance, so trash seemed to be more abundant then normal, but as always the experience was great and the area serene.

See the old beaver dam and lake. Sneaked in behind North Dekalb Mall. Great park.

This is the best nature preserve with the best walking trails around. Wetlands full of various frog species and dry forest with every kind of native bird. See if you can spot the great horned owls. You'll hear them calling in the evenings.

If you want to just relax, it's a place for you. It is very well taken care of and a perfect trail in the city!
