I gave a 20% tip to have someone legit just take my order. Paying automatic gratuity before I received any service seems like a con - I NEVER saw the server again. Because guess what? 50 minutes later my drink still didn’t arrive. Not sure why they have a call button because for 10-15 minutes no one acknowledged it. I ended up leaving my movie to find someone. Gimlet drink was trash and 3/4 full of ice so I’d suggest wine or beer. Also, they need to fix the sensors for the bathroom sinks and soap dispensers. Have fun hopping from sink to sink trying to find one that works - good way to make friends in the bathroom.
Movie theaters have lost their appeal over time, especially thanks to todays big screen hires TVs at home, but the reclining seats and limited audience with the immersive sound makes going to the movies a must for action and fx movies. Cmx is top for comfort , although quite expensive for tickets but more so for concession food and drinks.
So so experience, and I wouldn't consider visiting again. CMX considers this a "VIP" style theater which was advertised on the side of the building. Too many negatives for me. PROS: Absolutely loved the seating. The fully reclined chairs include individual reading lights, swivel eating trays, and two cup holders per person. Each chair also has a call button for the waiter. There's "table service" at each seat with a good selection of food and drink choices including alcohol. Prior to the movie, they played nice music with a corresponding "screen saver" type of visual, which I found relaxing. The lobby included a bar and a bunch of comfortable seating inside and out. There were also a lot of TVs inside and a few outside, which had sporting events playing. The restrooms were large with digital advertising on each faucet ... see photos. CONS: There were many kiosks in the lobby to purchase tickets without going to the counter. Sadly, these didn't appear to work, and there were handwritten signs to go to the counter. Upon arriving at the counter, there was one person working even though a line had formed and two other people walked by. It wasn't until a manager walked by that one additional person showed up to help. I was there on a Saturday at 3 pm. When you get your ticket, they give you this large menu to carry around until you get to your seat in the theater. This is so dumb! They spent money on technology to advertise on a faucet, but they couldn't figure out what many other restaurants have already done with a digital option to order and pay from your seat. While I noted the table service above was an advantage. I meant the part about the orders getting delivered to your table. Since they don't have a digital ordering service, that means some person comes up to take orders and blocks your view of the movie while they do so. Also, the call button to get a waiter is an advantage IF IT WORKED! We were the first in the theater, ordered a regular popcorn that never came even though we saw everyone else getting theirs. I asked some waiters for status, but still none. I had to go out to the bar in the lobby and ask the bartender, and 10 minutes after the movie started, it finally arrived. Meanwhile, the cost of everything except the tickets is over-priced. We ordered a brussel sprout appetizer, popcorn, vanilla shake, and one cocktail.... $89! The food was good but it wasn't that damn good! The staff didn't appear to be happy to work there or care about providing good service. Finally, there were many stalls available in the bathroom, yet 50% them were out of order, covered with black bags. Of the stalls that could be used, less than half of those were clean "enough" to use. I gave two stars for the good food, nice chairs and concept. BUT, the state of this place and service is pathetic. To self proclaim as a "VIP" of theaters is an embarrassment. DO BETTER!
Bad horrible. Paper cups are you serious? Food quality is horrible and poor maintenance. When they first opened was a great place, fancy and worth every penny. It is a cheap pricey experience now. Disgusting. I need a new option… this one is done!
Awesome experience. Theaters are beautiful and reclining chairs with privacy wings and personal side lights, luxury. Food was great and delivered to our seats very quickly. Not sure why a review said paper cups. My wine arrived in a wine glass.
Probably the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We came on a rainy day asking if no one showed up to the wheelchair accessible seats if we would purchase them, they said yes but come back 10 mins before the movie begins, we showed up only to find they sold them to another family not with wheelchairs. When we asked if there was anything they can do for us, they pushed us out of the theatre shrugging their shoulders saying “I don’t know what you want me to do?” Words, which should not be said by management. Clearly not trained well enough to manage a theatre. We spoke to two different “managers”. Stay away from this theatre, better off going down the street to very organized and they valet your parking tickets silver spot cinemas. Much more availability, and much organized/friendly staff. Will never go back to cmx brickell city center location, nor will I recommended it.
Watching Gran turismo was epic. Great food and service. Amazing sounds and screen. Not cheap but worth it
Watched Gran Truismo. First time visiting the movie theatre, let a lone a dining theatre. Food was delicious. Movie was great and seating comfort was deserves 5 stars. Was really disappointed because of how HOT it was in the theatre. My shirt had sweat stains from the heat. Just noticed another review about the lack of cooling system. Wish I would of read it before hand.
This is a very nice theater with great service, but way more than I need. They wait on you at your lounge chair in the theater. I prefer just getting the the concessions myself. But the theater was very nice, Jackson my server was attentive and friendly, and my overall experience was enjoyable. All the niceties come at a price, expect to pay a significantly higher price for this experience. If my review and or photos are helpful please give a thumbs up.
The theatre was very hot. You aren’t greeted by anyone when you come in. I guess the hostess standing there is just there for the sports bar. There’s some kiosks to print/buy your tickets but they all didn’t work. Since there’s no one around you have to look for your theatre. No one was there to take our order in theatre. The call buttons didn’t work. Go back downstairs to the hostess who shared she would send someone over. When got back to the theatre there was a server who said he would be right with us. He told us he had brought a few menus and we could grab one. Not sure why they don’t just have an option to order online and pay from phone option. It took awhile but he came to us with a dry attitude. He tells us the total and we pay. He then tells us he’s giving us the printed copy only for me to realize he put a 20% gratuity tip without even having the decency to let us know. What really pissed me off is I asked for water and never received it but you feel entitled to add a tip and not even do a follow up. Again no call buttons work and I don’t think it’s right to have to get up from the movie to do a job they are supposed to do. What happened to the days people earned their tips. The lemon drop drinks were disgustingly sweet and no vodka was tasted. The popcorn was dry and I found it weird that there was no butter smell. 2 cocktails, 1 popcorn, and candy for almost $65 not including the tickets. And then to have horrible customer service..no thanks. Not somewhere I will bother to return to
