I was really skeptical that I would enjoy this. I love music, parties, fashion and almost everything in california, but I hate long lines, being crowded or bumped into, public bathrooms and extreme heat. I went with VIP and had the best time ever! Getting into the area was about a half hour drive from Palm Springs (where we stayed). Go earlier than you think! There are line ups to get into the lot, and line ups to get into the festival. Tons of security check points. By the time we got in on the first day, we missed a few artists we wanted to see. The music was so good. Even if I didn't know the artist or was into that genre of music, I still loved it. Not sure if my friend felt the same way when she had to check out the shows I wanted to see but I personally loved it. I just wish there was a VIP section closer to the main stage but it wasn't the end of the world. Food was obviously a hit and miss (mostly hit). They had some healthy options available but I'd still like to see a few more for those with dietary restrictions and allergies etc. Juices were really tasty. Alcohol was expensive (as expected) but also tasted like water (disappointed). Everyone is having fun and super friendly. Sometimes a little too friendly but it was a really safe environment to meet people in. The restroom situation was... okay. When I got over the fact that I wouldn't be able to avoid a porter potty like bathroom it was alright. Try to head to the rose garden where the porcelain toilets are found, if you can. Much nicer but they have longer lines. You must be VIP for this as well. I think what surprised me the most is how much I love being in the desert. There was something so serene and beautiful about it. A definite contrast to being in the city all the time. I love it. I miss it. I would go again and recommend checking it out to everyone who asks.

A weekend at Coachella should be on everyone's bucket list. It is a life changing experience.

I've been to several music festivals, but I wouldn't willingly choose to attend Coachella again. The festival is ran pretty tight, which is good for logistic purposes, but it definitely has a money hungry vibe. The two times I've attended were because I was given free tickets and after both experiences I would never shovel out the insane amount of money for tickets. Campsites are fairly small, food/ice is very pricey, and given the intense heat in this area of the country, there should be WAY more water refill stations. On the plus side, the portapotties at the campgrounds aren't as bad as some of the other festivals I've been at; though they've had issues with crime, I felt really safe during my time there; and the fest grounds are spaced out so that I never felt claustrophobic (but I didn't try to push my way into shows). The worst part about this festival is the dust/pollen. Both times I've attended I got very sick and had a hard time enjoying it. Know this going in and be prepared to wear a bandana over your mouth and nose, even in the 100+ temps. I gave 3 stars to this festival because overall they do a great job putting it on. The rules are a bit strict, but it's all in the safety of their patrons. I can't even begin to imagine what it takes to put on an event like this, so I applaud their efforts!

I'm not a fan of your rules Coachella. My friend said he didn't like Coachella he's been to a bunch of music festivals all over and now I have a better understanding what he meant when he was talking about his experience a few years ago. I like the location it's beautiful here. It's awesome you guys have so many talented artists. I've been to burning man and felt much more free. Whenever I walk around here I'm constantly being told this and that. I recommend burning man for those that like more freedom and a less authoritarian vibe. Although it's been a few years since I've been so I hope burning man hasn't changed.
