A deceptively small trove of hefty historical value. Docents are retired military with a passion for sharing both the history and relevance of the United States Coast Guard. Detailed ship models, uniforms, maps, photos, and personal items pertaining to all eras in maritime history. A great resource for writers.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree

I was only upstairs of the museum building. Not much up there relating to the museum. There's a beautiful & enormous sized hand-painted? art piece on the floor leaned against the wall. View of an ocean unsure which specifically w/ a large Coast Guard ship in the center. Unsure if it's new, taken off the wall for a reason or possible temp location of this art. It needs to be on a wall & viewed by as many people as possible. The upstairs does have a bar area, lots of open flooring, movable podium, plenty of long collapsible tables & stackable chairs. I assume this upstairs area can be reserved/used for events & a lecture type arena. Lots of ships were in port & special to see so many up close.
Take care, only for american citizen, canadians can't go there and in date of July 7th 2023, it is not mentionned on the internet site ‍
Lots of interesting Coast Guard history. A very nice veteran showed us around and chatted with us for over an hour.
Full of facts about the Coast guard and their history. The caretakers were very helpful and informative. Recommend you go if your in the Seattle area.
This place is really interesting, I recommend visiting and learning about the evolution of the Coast Guard from the historian who works here. He will guide you through the exhibits and answer any questions you may have.
We had the best tour! What a Natl Treasure. We learned so much & everyone was thoroughly entertained.
I was very impressed with how friendly and knowledgeable the Volunteers were in explaining various exhibits and sharing stories about their past Military service.
It's very small. The volunteer staff are wonderful though. Tons of stories and knowledgeable about everything.
