I dined at Cobalt Grille for the first time ever earlier this month, and wow! I was very impressed by the menu, quality of food, and upscale atmosphere. I liked that the front of house was more bar/work lounge, and the main dining area felt very NYC hole in the wall with an open window to view the kitchen. The server we had was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was spectacular. As a plant-based/vegetarian eater, it’s hard to find entrees that do the job well, and I was very pleased with my veggie entree. My partner had the beef Wellington and couldn’t even finish it all! Great servings, nice drinks, etc.. I would recommend and go there again.
From my first experience to my most recent…this restaurant is outstanding! We celebrated my husband’s birthday and the birthday menus were a nice touch! The server, Alex, was very attentive and offered good suggestions. The food tasted fresh, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection! Plate presentations were beautiful! I can’t wait to visit again!
I bought their Thanksgiving dinner this year.It was $66 and it was the worst meal I have ever had. I use to like this restaurant but this meal was disgusting. I got turkey3slices, a scoop of mashed potatoes that had no flavor, gravy that tasted like water and a scoop of stuffing that was mediocre. I also got apple pie with basil on it! It was gross! Who puts basil on apple pie? When I went to pick it up, they supposedly forgot to give me green beans and yams so I had to go back and pick it up again. I picked it up and my mistake was not looking at it! Both sides had a huge block of hard butter on it! They both tasted disgusting and I had to throw it away. I will never come back to this restaurant and will definitely let people know that this fine dining restaurant doesn't care about their customers. They only care about making money! I use to come here often and recommended it to friends. I will never do that again because it is obvious that this restaurant has no problem charging $66 for food that tastes like garbage.
Ordered: Fried green tomatoes Petite filet mignon Both of our filets weren't prepared as ordered but they weren't so raw we couldn't eat it, one was close. I know a lot of chefs are very stuck in how they want to prepare a meal, but if you ask it to be prepared a certain way because that's how you're okay to eat it then that should be honored. The servers were very good and attentive and the ambiance was nice. It was a quiet rainy evening so guessing it's probably a lot louder when the weather isn't keeping everyone at home. I would go back and try different things off of the menu, which seems to have a really good variety.
We came here for the first time this past weekend. Our server was extremely nice and absolutely stayed on top of things. All of our food was great. It was quiet and comfortable. We don't go out much any more, but we will definitely be back.Food: 5/5
Had a wonderful date night with my husband with wonderful service and delicious food and drinks. This is my third time here, and every time I have had a great visit. Definitely a gem in the Hilltop area. They are open for lunch and dinner now and wish I lived closer! Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access for wheelchair users
Food was “okay” for a strip mall spot. Sadly the $60/person Mother’s Day four course meal was underwhelming. I was anticipating a classy culinary experience. The tomato soup was way over salted, the mashed potatoes seemed too similar to instant potatoes, and the key lime pie had minimal resemblance to previous ones I’ve enjoyed. If I were going for a replaxed lunch pit stop, it would have been fine. Server was kind.
It was nice. Very quiet setting. Staff is older which is great but also can come across bothered. Food was big portions so the prices being higher was fitting. On line they were both opened and closed depending how you asked on search engine. I would go again for sure.
Had dinner at the long standing Cobalt Grill last night with my wife. Not our first time but our first time in over a year. Here's my dining experience review: - Atmosphere was nice, always is - packed. - Bar best served beer in bottle w/glass - perfectly crisp and cold - Service was good but not perfect - ordered a cup of soup as a starter but received a bowl. Questioned my server who insisted I ordered a bowl which I did not, I order a cup. - Food was good the 2nd time - had to send my 1st service of fish back as it was overcooked - more like fish jerky. Wife's steak was overcooked. She refused to send it back and she left half her steak on the plate. Overall, our dining experience wasn't bad, the bar/service/food was good. However, future diners take note when you dine there the next time. IMHO, for the price you pay for Cobalt's menu items, jt seems you only get 1/2 sized portions when compared to other equally priced restaurants in our are such as Cork & Bull, Terrapins, the Chop House, etc. I think next time we go, we may stick with their burgers.
So instead of going to a place about the kid of a meat guy, go here!!! This place was so amazing! From dinner drinks to appetizers, from burgers to Beef Wellington, from espresso martinis to cookie ice cream sandwiches, this place raises the bar! We had such a a great time and can't wait to go back!
