I read these reviews and I have a hard time believing that the negative commentators ever met Joe.  The prices may seem high, but when you get quality workmanship, its never too high.  I had a pair of 1992 Boots that would have cost me $900 to replace.  I brought him a pair of Johnson and Murphy Crown A's that I bought in 1981, went to prom with my girlfriend in and married that same girl in 1989 wearing those same shoes.  Sentimental? Yes.  Joe worked miracles on both for $175.  Thank you Joe; I'll never go anywhere else.

I wish I had read reviews before I shopped here.  I purchased two pairs of cushion inserts - high priced but I thought they would work.  Discovered they weren't what I needed.  Went back the next day to return them and was told by Joe that these items are personal and not returnable.  He did not tell me when I purchased them that they were not returnable - not a peep.  Nothing on the receipt about it either.  Encourage you not to give them your business.  Tried to give them zero stars.

Joe is the best, hands down. Gentle, hardworking man who does fantastic work. Sometimes it takes a little longer than he estimates, but any reasonable person who appreciates good work will understand that life happens, especially when you are running your own shop and the sole cobbler. 
As a Men's clothier, I value quality and honesty which I find with Joe.

Visit Joe first before you waist your time elsewhere.

Joe has an ENORMOUS ego and would like to  be more than a self trained shoe repair man. He pretends to be a professional with college education and a licence. This is against the law.  Ask to see his Missouri state license. He is OVER PRICED , does not return calls.. how does he stay in business! I walked out! Save money and go elsewhere.. I did and got wonderful service.

Brought in a pair of florsheims that needed some new heels and TLC. Finished product was outstanding. Added many more years to the pair of one of my favourite shoes. Thanks Joe!
