I love it here. I went here as a child and am so happy to be back with my family. As for racism I'm laughing a bit. My daughter looks Hispanic, even other Hispanic people think she is Hispanic just by looking at her. She has been treated wonderfully here. Trust me if I thought for a moment that she was being targeted because of the way she looks (this has happened to her before) I would be a full on Mama Bear, but nothing even close to racism has happened to her. She spends a lot of time in the pool area by herself (she is 14) and has never been targeted by the staff. She was (as were the other children) talked to once about not dunking her head under water in the hot tub. From day one she has walked around the camp by herself, and all the staff have been nice to her. The camp does have a lot of rules, but it is for a good reason. Many of the rules have been put into place because something has happened over the past 50 something years the camp has been opened that has made the camp start using that rule. An example of this is back when I was about 11 a young boy was injured while riding his big wheel around the front of the camp, now big wheels aren't allowed. The owners aren't trying to be hard a**es they want people to be safe and have fun. It is also a fairly large camp and are responsible for many, many people and their belongings. When I was a child and the camp was smaller there were fewer rules, but there was also fewer things to do, fewer friends for family to make.

I was a little skeptical pulling in and seeing how busy it was, but it ended up being a great stay (Sun-Thurs). I'd imagine weekends are busier, which is probably what we were seeing upon arrival. As far as our stay, the place is immaculate. Really clean pools, grounds, beach, sites, etc. All staff we encountered were really friendly, from the office, store, grounds people and restaurant. Our site was awesome. It was a good size, level and had some trees and bushes between sites. Roads are paved too which was great for my daughter who's earning to ride her bike. All in all, it was a great stay and we'd definitely like to come back!

I was very disappointed with the lack of professionalism displayed by some members of the staff and ownership. I certainly would recommend that potential campers look elsewhere to spend their hard earned money on a campground that would appreciate, value and cultivate positive relationships with their clientele.

My family enjoyed our time there. Lots of opportunities for families to share quality time together. Different activities to keep many entertained. The place is clean and the staff is kind.
