I worked with Derek at Colorado in Motion. I came to Colorado in motion with the inability to skateboard like I used to. In the five or six weeks that Derek and I worked together I was able to get back on my board, build confidence and generally remove the "stupid" feeling my left foot was having. The dry point needling and deep massages made the night and morning pains nearly diminish as well. My experience here was incredible and if I ever had problems with my feet, ankles, or legs I would return.

First off, I could tell what was going to by my physical therapist absolutely had good intentions but they failed completely at the front desk customer service. I'm 41 male and just had a shoulder lab-rum tear and anchor surgery 2 weeks ago. Now time for physical therapy! My surgical orthopedic Dr. referred me to Colorado in Motion for physical therapy because they also accept my insurance, Colorado Medicaid. If anyone knows this area of topic and my age, healing and getting back to the "norm" would be more extensive vs when I was in my 20's. I go in to check in for my appointment to be greeted by a unpleasant somewhat annoyed front desk receptionist. By the way I had already filled out there over extensive 45 minutes of paperwork online before check in to save time on both sides which she never even acknowledged or referred to! She held a very irritated and unpleasant tone with frustrated body language. Zero compassion whatsoever, more annoyed with my presence and the fact I forgot my very Valid medicaid number. She attempted to verify it contacting my orthopedic surgical Dr then was annoyed when she was greeted with a voicemail and irritably hung up. She went on about how I need to bring more documents (insurance) because I honestly had lost my card but just had surgery covered by it 2 weeks ago. I explained my reasons and what I can do to fix it by going to the Medicaid office to get verification even though I was already pre-approved for this service, hence the referral from my orthopedic Dr. that performed surgery and was well aware of my insurance limits and coverage. Reason being he chose Colorado in Motion. Not only that I also had a surgical neck replacement from herniated discs just 9 months ago which I'm still healing from. But that just red flags the receptionist to go into, "Oh Oh were not going to be able help you" mode. Assuming I won't be covered because I had previous recent physical therapy for my neck. She doesn't even care why I had and need physical therapy now. All by the way, She never even cared to ask what I'm even there for. My assumption is anyone coming in to do a line of physical therapy sessions probably is because of a bad injury and surgical procedure to fix it. Meaning, were not in the best of shape or feeling too well ourselves. There was no sympathy just a bad attitude that didn't offer to not worry for now but to make it seem to be the number one requirement. Nobody is trying to get sessions for free. Good grief. But that's where it ends for me. I already did not appreciate her attitude and zero sympathy or compassion. She instantly made me feel not welcome and uncomfortable. If I have to rehabilitate my arm to working order for the next two months and count on their services and be greeted by that twice a week, no thank you I will search elsewhere. It really does start at customer service. It sets the whole vibe and level of compassion in the beginning, not just with the physical therapist. The physical therapist meant well but your whole company needs to be on the same compassionate level and give it to all of your patients no matter how bad of a day your having. Shame on you receptionist lady! And you know exactly who I'm talking about. Remember, were the ones who just got surgery. You actually have a secure paying job that is more than likely created because of people like me and our misfortunes which I assume requires you to be somewhat friendly, it's not too much to ask for. A smile and a "How are you today?" goes a long way but yet so simple to do.

Having tried every type of therapy for a nagging issue in my quad, I scheduled an appointment with CoPT and saw Amy and Kari over the course of two months. After 3+ years with the issue, we've made incredible progress and things are back to normal. Ive been prescribed some light daily work to keep things where they should be and everything has been great. Their staff are always courteous and very helpful!

From the moment I met Derek Haverly, I felt I was in competent hands. I fell off my bike in June and broke my leg in two places. I had to wait a long, painful week to have surgery, and was two weeks post-op when I hobbled on crutches into Colorado in Motion traumatized, lugging a swollen, painful, deadened appendage. Derek managed to bring life back into my limb, engaging my mind in the task, showing me that it takes more than a plate and screws to fix a broken leg. It takes teaching your brain that this damaged, painful part can be touched, can move, can heal. He gently guided me to a place of hope, encouraged me in his quiet, calm way, and pushed me forward. Even now, weeks later, every time I go in, I progress enormously. Every visit he propels me forward in some significant way and I leave renewed and enthusiastic. I'm a 63 year old person who desperately wants to get back to my running and biking. Derek takes my situation seriously and manages to address every concern I have no matter how badly I communicate it. I tell people that Derek saved my life and I mean it. Derek has a gift and I can never thank him enough!
