The Columbus Washboard Co. was established in 1895 and is the last manufacturer of washboards in the United States. Originally in Columbus, Ohio we moved to Logan, Ohio in 1999. We sell all over the world through our online store, through our distribution centers both in Logan, Ohio and our UK office in Bromley, Kent, as well as through our retail and online partners across the globe.
Yes, Washboards are still used today! For laundry, stain removal, decoration and of course as musical instruments! We are proud of the high quality of our work and still manufacture our products one at a time by hand using some equipment dating back to the turn of the 20th Century. We still use our original logos for our branded washboards and can custom make washboards using your original logo. We also supply a small range of nostalgic and authentic soaps and personal products from the United States and Great Britain to help encourage the companies to continue production.
Situated in an old shoe factory in historic downtown Logan, we are both a living piece of history and a great place to visit. Our air conditioned museum store is well worth a visit, featuring the history of our company, original artifacts, information on Logan and surrounding areas, and of course washboards, soaps, and many other curios. We are proud to be a genuine US manufacturer, not a marketing company or former manufacturing company that has turned it's factory into a store front for imported goods.
