Hotel is near the end of the tourist strip, so is quieter, with less traffic around. It is about a half mile from Tanger Outlet Center. View from the upper story balconies is one of the best. Hot tub suite had sufficiently large hot tub. Some people who know the Outer Banks might remember this hotel as the old Armada, just past where the bypass curves around to head for Roanoke Island.

The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and informative. They have free breakfast which has eggs, sausage, muffins, fruit, cereal, juices, and a waffle maker which was awesome. The view from the room overlooked the back deck and beach. Once you walk out the back door you immediately step onto the beach with no exaggeration. The rooms were in good condition other than the shower head that wasn't flush with the tile but it still worked perfectly and wasn't a big deal at all. There was also a microwave and mini fridge. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the outer banks area.

the worst stay I have ever encountered. Comfort Inn South, oceanfront should be ashamed the way this place looks, smells and the management, yes, the management should be fired for the insensitive way they handled us. Trying to take my 30 year old terminally ill son on a short trip being he has never been to NagsHead, I wanted to make this memorable. He will probably never be able to travel with us again and thanks to this hotel, you made his first experience the worst trip he has ever had. They all need sensitivity training, customer service training and as for the smell in this place, wow, the smell of sewage and the lack of air conditioning, what a nice combination that was. BTW, tell your cleaning crew, although friendly, they need to clean better. no kidding, toilet looked as if someone had a bowel movement on the back part of the toilet, the shower had hair and the coffee maker, GROSS. the roll beds need to be trashed. they screwed up our reservation, my son had to sleep in these horribly uncomfortable bed, I finally gave up the king bed so he could sleep but that bed was terrible as well. They didn't accommodate us with 2 beds and thought the roll away beds would compensate for it. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could have slept on the floor and had been more comfortable. Corporate really should look into this and follow up on these conditions and managers. Sad that my son had to endure all of this as his life is difficult enough. SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never again

What an awesome vacation! The staff here is incredible. I wish there was more than five stars. The staff deserve a hundred! They were incredibly helpful and truly sensitive to the guests needs. This will be our permanent beach destination. I actually saw one of the staff who was done for the day and headed to his car turn around and assist a guest with there luggage and getting checked in. It is obvious that the staff is not only helpful but truly enjoy there job. The room was very comfortable and clean. I can't wait to come back here and hopefully it will be often! My wife and I have been using the choice hotels for twelve years now and this was by far the BEST experience we've had. I don't see any reason to stay anywhere else. This place is awesome! Thank you so much to everyone here for making this vacation truly awesome!

I had a very pleasant stay at the Comfort Inn while visiting the Outer Banks. The location right on the beach was perfect and the room we were in over looked the ocean. My boyfriend and I were able to see the moon rise the night we arrived and the sunrise the next morning easily from our room balcony. The room was clean and well kept. The front desk staff was friendly and personable. The complimentary breakfast was a wonderful way to end our stay before checking out. The price for the hotel in July (being booked only a month prior) was very fair. I would certainly consider staying here again on my next over night trip to OBX.
