I am from Hazard, Kentucky only 2 hours from Lexington but my partner and myself moved here because I have always loved Lexington because of being gay it's easier to live in a city more accepting of LGBT people plus I have been a UK basketball fan my entire life, with that being said the people here are the rudest most disrespectful people I have ever met. I have never been treated so rudely by so many people now we are considering moving to a different city I am extremely disappointed in Lexington my dreams of moving here and living a peaceful life have been halted. The people in my hometown are ignorant and prejudice but even they are not as rude and disrespectful as the people here, I was raised to treat others the way you want to be treated and even the businesses have the rudest workers I've ever met and that's not even the worst part the managers and owners either don't care or they're just as rude, horrible horrible people.

I am a new member of this chamber and I can't begin to say how impressed I am! I have received assistance beyond my expectations. They offer many resources that provide businesses with what they do, but they took the extra time to work with me on every detail that I was curious about. To begin with Kristin was more than helpful, she was instrumental in my consideration for becoming a member. Dana was also a huge help in guiding me through our profile listing. As a local business owner in Lexington, I strongly encourage you to consider this chamber in effectively helping you gain stronger recognition within the community.

My chamber experience has been remarkable. Resources are abundant and the people are amazing. My company's growth in Lexington has certainly benefited from our involvement with Commerce Lexington.

I am from Nashville, and i never realized how wonderful the hospitality is in Nashville until I came to Lexington for a Pearl Jam concert and found out the truth about this place. First and foremost. Pearl Jam was amazing!! Eddie Vendor bring a whole new meaning to how a rock star should behave. I have been to many different concerts were the band is late and drunk to their own show but Pearl Jam is in my book, in an elite group of people that care for there fans on the same lines as a Garth Brooks or a Billy Joel. The fans were pretty awesome too, it was so funny to see joints being passed around during Eddies version of Comfortably Numb and security looking for those people, not one fan turned anyone in..... So in my book the fans are just as classy as the band, with a whole different view of what America should be like but Lexington was unprepared and unresponsive to the 24,000 dedicated fans that drove, like I did, 3 hours or more to get here. Only to find there was an 1 and a half hour wait to get a cab to even go to the concert. Then when we all get out of the concert EVERYONE was looking for food or really ANY place to get out of the rain, only to find that there we a handful of bars even still open at 11:30 pm. Coudos to Paulies across from RUPP areana , they are one of the few places that made any money last night. So after standing in the rain for almost 2 hours tring to get a cab back to our hotel room. We finally arrived, only to get back in the car to try to find something to eat. Dennys was the only place open, which we sat there for 45 minutes and never even got offered a drink or menu, even though there were only a handful of people in there as well, and we werent the only ones that left unsatisfied. At this point we were starving and could not even find a gas station to get snacks at because they were all closed too! Thankfully Walmart was still open to get us some food for the night. The bottom line is Lexington had 24,000 people in their downtown last night that all had money to burn and Lexington not only lost all of that money, but also lost SO many potentail future visitors to this city. I for one will never come back here!!! Ps I will be posting this review anywhere and everywhere I can to let people know how visitors are treated in this part of Kentucky. UPDATE i have just talked to someone from the chamber, someone from the city, and someone from the mayors office not only was I met with rude comments, but i also got all kinds of excuses about how its not the job of the city to accommodate any of the fans and how they cant force restaurants to stay open which is understandable, however of the restaurant owners I talked to , none of them even new the concert was happening. Because no one from the city bothered to tell the business owners of there community. Great place yall have here, im going back to Nashville where southern hospitality still exsists.
