Libraries have changed drastically! There was a time you knew you were in a Library. An attendant would be on deck at all times, making sure there was know talking, eating, and the likings of..... Not so today! Prime example; Compton Library. Irresponsible Parents bring there untrained kids to the library, and let them run loose like animals.........It's very hard on concentration when someone is trying to Focus, or Study! P.S. There is entirely to many "Homeless" People here! They come in and take up Space from those who need to Study, and have some kind of Peace of Mind for a few hours. They come only to charge their phones, Sleep, Eat, and Drink........ There's a place for those people of this nature; It's called "Skid Row"...... Libraries are supposed to be a place of quietness, peace of mind, stillness, tranquility, and calmness.........This is not a place for babysitting, hangouts, sleeping, eating, or running all over the place as if you were in an amusement park!

Blueforf, Gomez and Cuevas addressed issues about this great library that are simply untrue and at most malicious or derivative of being a "bad dog because it has a bad name" a.k.a Compton. I will attempt to address those issues one after the other, but first my review of the library. I have been going to different libraries because of program schedule and professional exams, and I finally settled on this particular library and been a consistent weekly visitor from early morning till about noon. Among all the libraries I had been going to, this Compton library beats the others. First it is located succinctly beside the Court and surrounded by impressive presence of police vehicles constantly. An underground or basement parking lot is available for my car, from where I take the elevator to the second floor location of the library. Entering the library, the first impression is that of professional office with large ensemble of books well organized and sparkling clean. A polite greeting by the front desk attendant is the first encounter. The rest of the time spent is at ease and quietness. Librarians are available to assist me always. Now, to the purported issues. The library is certainly not dirty, as I have stated above. The issue of presence of homeless around is certainly not true also as the presence of law enforcement is anathema to it. Moreover a poor unemployed person or student who may come to the library to read for better prospects may appear unkept or disheveled simply for lack of funds but certainly not homeless. Finally, for the reviewers complaint on the non-existent homeless issue, he or she may be homeless too one day (not wishing for anyone though)......things do turn around you know. Finally, race "blacks' need not be an issue but that affirms my earlier assertion of malicious intent of one of the "reviewers" One last thing, library is for everyone including"single" ladies or married ones. That 'single"girl struggling to read while attending to her child(Ren) in my book is a superstar. She wants to improve her status or mind, and may have just packed lunch for her husband ( yes husband....She may be married too you know) and decided to visit the library to catch up on her home work s before hubby returned and she had to attend her evening classes or go for her evening shift job while hubby looked after junior. You never know, really. So, I have never seen such in this library but I will keep an eye out for those "single" mothers"...To walk to them and if they are nice to call them "Superstars'. Compton library from my experience is absolutely worth visiting. Simply go and read. Leave the personal prejudices.....Not good for your mind and study.

I have never waited for a computer here. The staff was awesome when I had a problem with my PIN number. They have 3 small meeting rooms that don't require reservation, are private, and have a White board.
