I went here asking for information about the outpatient program and financial assistance after it was recommended to me, thinking the person at the front desk would just give me a pamphlet or something and I'd be out in a couple of minutes. Instead I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork, lock my purse and phone away, and see two different nurses who took my vitals and medical history before even speaking to someone about what I needed. I asked the woman at the front desk and both nurses if this was normal for just wanting information about their services and was assured that it was just their policy for everyone who comes in since they are part hospital. I thought it was very strange for something that should have been so simple but went along with it. I really wish I wouldn't have though because now I'm being billed $200 for literally nothing (discounted from $500 since I don't have insurance.) I never even got any info about their services! just an application for financial assistance. I called and spoke with someone about how ridiculous this is and they're unwilling to forgive the bill. I received no medical treatment whatsoever and made it clear to 3 different people that I was only there for information. Doesn't matter. I'm so upset and disgusted by this.

I was transferred here after being in wake med for a week, they treated me like absolute family and only wanted the best for all of us there.

HELL!!!!The ONLY reason I gave them 1 star was to leave my comments. It was AWFUL!! Most of the staff were uncaring & too busy to help me every time I asked. I went there willingly...but TOTALLY LOST MY S!*T & demanded to be released IMMEDIATELY. At least a 72 hour hold is the law in N.C. They took me off ALL 3 medications!!! Gave me BS withdrawal medication. Vistaril is just amped up Benadryl😂What a flipping JOKE. FINALLY after ALL DAY of asking about my medications.....The FIRST NURSE TO ACTUALLY SHOW THE MOST COMPASSION!! He was the ONLY one able to calm me down because NO one else tried!!! HE explained to me they do that to MOST patients if ANY of the meds were being ABUSED.Yes I admit...I took too MANY...BUT over a period of 5 days & STILL had some left!!! I had been arguing with my husband for months because of OTHER people's BS. But anyway I used too be a cutter in high school but ALWAYS hid it...so no one knew. I was tired of feeling mental pain so hurting myself is OUR way of feeling physical pain trying to distract OUR thoughts & FEELINGS. So I cut several lines on the inside of my upper arm...THIS got me sent AWAY!! DO NOT INFLICT ANY BODILY HARM THAT'S ALSO CONSIDERED as potential suicidal...& they have to try to keep you safe. TOTALLY understandable. Anyways... Most of the groups were very beneficial. But they should seperate the ones who are there for HELP from the ones that are there BECAUSE they want to be rude to others & never contribute or cause a NEGATIVE environment for the others needing POSITIVE reinforcement!!! Brandon, Patty, Catherine, Ms. Mac. & a few others I can't remember their names...BUT I really appreciate ALL they did. They showed true compassion and didn't act like you were BOTHERING THEM!!!! I got along with MOST patients....we ALL have issues or we wouldn't be there....so why do they ALLOW patients to threaten to beat up other patients?? Maybe they don't hear it or maybe it's favoritism?? I pray for ALL those in there & all that may get sent there involuntarily, that they will survive. I couldn't sleep. The temperature was up & down, the fire alarms were being tested/fixed while I was there, they FINALLY got it fixed the next day!!! They treat you like a prisoner!!!! Food was NOT good except for breakfast. But it was the same thing for 3 days!. I hope they change. I will NEVER go back there voluntarily IF I ever have to go back. Hopefully I can get the RIGHT MEDS & the RIGHT therapist & psychiatrist ASAP. My 72 hours was up Tuesday and there was NO reason for the Dr.to object!! Thank God I got out of there when I did or I would have REALLY lost my mind. Medications CANT just be stopped like that especially if you've been on & off them for over 20 years!!!! My shrink already started weaning me slowly....so WHY cut someone off completely. Especially celexa & gabapentin which is just stupid. I understand cutting off an ABUSED MED....but NOT a necessary med!! And my shrink says I'LL be ok with the visteral!!! Its fine to get back on the celexa & gabapentin. BUT withdrawals LAST year from valium drove me TOTALLY INSANE. & here I am going through it again BUT THANKS to those staff that REALLY care and helped me understand my disorders are NORMAL & I CAN & WILL GET BETTER!!!! Even BETTER THAN I EVER WAS!!! Much LUV. Some staff forget where they are and how to treat people but the majority are awesome. If you are honest with them you shouldn't end up back there. Dr.Cobos or however you spell it is an amazing listener and very helpful. Thanks to all who worked memorial day weekend to care for me and everyone in there.
