Congregation Ahavas Achim has been part of Newburyport since March 9, 1896.
We are a welcoming spiritual community that strives to educate and inspire children, youth, and adults to participate actively in worship, Torah study, and the Jewish life experience. We strive to put Jewish religious and ethical principles into action. We seek to enrich the lives of our members, contribute to the continuance and vitality of the Jewish people, and commit to Tikkun Olam - repairing the world.
We welcome the participation of interfaith couples and families, and people of all abilities, backgrounds, and sexual orientations.
We take pride in offering a comprehensive Jewish education for children starting in Pre-school and continuing post Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
Students participate in services, engage in thoughtful classroom discussions, and join in the preparation of ritual activities within our community and congregation.
