Congregation Rodef Sholom is a Reform synagogue located in San Rafael, California.
Rodef Sholom is a kehillah kedoshah, a holy community, where individuals, couples and families come to study our traditions and Torah in the context of Reform Judaism: to lift the spirit through meditation, reflection and worship of God; to find refuge, peace and meaning; and to observe and mark Jewish time through the lifecycles of our congregants. We embrace and care for all of our members and their families, and we recognize that among us are many Interfaith families who are integral to that sacred community. Above all, we are and will continue to be a place to discover why being Jewish really matters, a place to deepen your commitment to a Jewish way of being.
Congregation Rodef Sholom, founded in 1956, is a Reform Jewish Congregation located on the Lonee C. Hoytt Jewish Campus in San Rafael, California, and is affiliated with the Union of Reform Judaism. Our campus partners include the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center and Brandeis Hillel Day School.
Rodef Sholom, which literally means "pursuers of peace", calls on us to actively pursue peace and wholeness.
We are welcoming and inclusive, and support the development of friendships and bonds without regard to our members' national origin, race, color, gender, marital status, sexual orientation or physical/mental abilities; and we accept and encourage a wide range of ideas and expressions of Judaism.
We are committed to healing the world (tikkun olam), social justice (mitzvot), involvement and advocacy, and recognizing and responding to unmet social needs within and beyond the Jewish community, both locally and globally.
