Consamus and Hampton Dental Clinic has been offering a full range of dental care to Ames and the surrounding communities since 1981. The clinic specializes in patient care and comfort utilizing the most advanced dental technology including digital x-rays, soft tissue diode laser treatment, and CEREC cad/cam technology.
We provide comfort amenities like flat screen TV's in all of the treatment rooms, iPods, and warm blankets upon request. Nitrous oxide is also available. We provide dentistry that includes preventative, oral surgery, root canal therapy, restorative and reconstructive, and treatment disease (gum disease). We also provide all aspects of cosmetic dentistry including whitening, porcelain laminates, and resin bonding.
We are also providers of Delta Dental of Iowa and Wellmark, but will gladly accept and bill most dental insurance companies. Because we use electronic claims processing, our patients receive faster responses from their insurance companies. Our office staff will also send email appointment reminders.

I've never liked going to the dentist, but Dr. Hampton and the rest of the staff at Consamus and Hampton put me right at ease and were very gentle. Incredibly professional and no pushing of unnecessary procedures. They care about your dental health and your comfort. Hands down the best dental experience I have ever had. I highly recommend them.

I see Dr. Hampton and could not say enough good things about him and everyone in the office.  They are all amazing. I adore the lady that cleans my teeth.  If you are looking for an amazing professional dentist.  I recommend this place.  I cannot say enough good things about them.

Horrible dentistry. The dentist just presses a dental scalar to determine whether you have good teeth or not. They charge different fees for different people. If you don't know them personally don't bother to go there.

The doctor is always nice. Don't recommend patients to do extra non-needed treatment. After we moved to SF bay area and saw some dentists, we realized that the doctor we used have at Consamus & Hampton really care about your teeth instead of how much money can be made out of your dentist insurance. Keep being the best in Ames.

I received a root canal today from Consamus and Hampton (Dr. Nate). I've never had a root canal before, so was very nervous. Im also very skeptical of dentists due to many bad experiences by family members. At this visit, I felt no pain. They were very good with the anesthetic. The longevity of a root canal treated tooth is directly correlated with how long the entire treatment takes from drilling exposure to filling and capping/crowning. Dr. Nate did the entire procedure in 1.5 hours. My wife had a similar procedure done on a similar tooth elsewhere when we lived in a different state and the procedure took two visits spread over the duration of a week. I highly recommend this place. They generally take the approach that preservation of living tooth / tissue is the most effective at promoting dental health. The previous dentist I went to, again, different state, was drill happy--almost as if he wanted to bill for surgical procedures as often as possible. At any rate, I highly recommend this place. They were voted best dentist in Story County this year. I've been going to Dr. Nate for 3 years and I plan to continue to do so. Well done and thank you to Dr. Nate and the excellent staff at Consamus and Hampton!
