Horrible experience! The visa officer must be a neofascist. This time I just wanna share my experience of being discriminated in the German consulate in Atlanta. The consular officer treated people based on their racial groups. She at first told me that I should not hand her over the duplicate version of my application materials. Later, she questioned me about why I did not hand her over all the materials. In addition, she used a very discriminating tone and said "If you cannot understand what I am saying, why don't you hire a translator?" I don't know how she had this conclusion, that I was having trouble understanding her in English. After that, she required me to leave the seat and sort the materials, which she threw out, out. With all that being done, I was nervous and worried if I would upset her even more. When she talked to me again, she was mad that I did not sort the documents in the way which she imagined should be. So she acted like she could not believe that and asked me "Are you doing all these intentionally? Are you lying about anything, or are you hiding some bad deeds from me". I was shocked and had to behave even more modest. This is definitely a moral insult to me. The whole process was me saying "sorry" to her and she acted like she was the king of the whole consulate. You might think that it could be my personal problem. But there was a white guy missed several important documents, the consular officer acted nice and sweet and offered him tips like "you can e-mail them to me", "certainly", "of course". When it was my turn, her face changed and behaved like it was her worst day in life from the very beginning. I’ve never been so mad in my life 😡

Unprofessional and rude!! They will NEVER be happy with the documents you provide. Carry your entire life history of documents and they will still say something is missing. FYI - if the website clearly states a checklist of what needs to be provided, I am sure we would be able to follow with no problem. The security officer and the lady who interviews are so rude. Especially the lady. She said we were missing few documents and she did not allow us to even explain. Every time we started talking to give her an explanation, she would interrupt us and she asked us to leave the place. Ma’am - if you are reading this, you need to learn some customer service skills and how to be polite and courteous. For tourists like us who want to visit Germany, this was such a bitter experience. They all need to be given some sort of training. You are only a visa officer who is checking our documents. This is not an FBI interrogation where you can treat customers like criminals. Yes ma’am - this is for you. Never visiting Germany and never coming to this place again. I will be sure to spread the word to my friends and family in Atlanta who want to travel to Germany.

If I could give zero stars, I’d do that. Their customer service is horrible. I just tried to pick up a document, arrived 1 minute late and they wouldn’t serve me anymore. I am 8 months pregnant, had my other two little kids with me, had to run a few blocks and arrived all sweaty. Didn’t matter to them. Words like human decency and compassion don’t exist in the vocabulary of their staff. Every time I’ve had to go to the consulate they manage to amaze me just how awful their customer service is and how rude they are. Shame on them.

HORRIBLE STAFF & EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE !! WHO HIRED THESE CLOWNS ??? IF YOU CALL THEM, THEY DONT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS PROPERLY - THEY TELL YOU “THIS ISNT THE VISA DEPARTMENT” THEN THEY TRANSFER YOUR CALL TO A DAMN VOICEMAIL! OR THEY TELL YOU TO EMAIL THEM & ONCE YOU DO YOU HAVE TO SEND THE SAME EMAIL TWICE OR MORE JUST TO GET AN ANSWER ! EVEN THEN THEY ARENT ABLE TO ANSWER CERTAIN QUESTIONS SO THEY’LL JUST SAY “ PLEASE ASK THE VISA OFFICER DURING YOUR INTERVIEW” HOW IS SOMEONE SUPPOSED TO COME PREPARED IF THEY DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT TO EXACTLY BRING ?!? SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIRE THE CURRENT EMPLOYEES WHO COULD CARE LESS ABOUT THEIR JOB & HIRE NEW EMPLOYEES WHO WOULD ACTUALLY HELP OUT PEOPLE !!!!

I am so disappointed 😞 that the instructions for the documents needed were not as they requested. They ask you to make extra copies of everything once you are there even if I had already copies as the instructions said and extra documents. Please make 2 copies of everything before you go there. I thought my appointment was going to be quick but they didn’t start on time and took over 2 hours. 🇩🇪
