High energy dance bar located within the Habana Inn property. You will love or hate the Copa. It's likely you will feel both simultaneously. The decor is either monstrously hideous or so ugly it's amazing. Wait times for drinks are agonizingly long especially on weekends. It seems as if they are perpetually understaffed. Add the fact that liquor bottles are electronically measured and those who like to get their drunk on will be frustrated. If you like to dance through the night though you will be right at home amongst the sweaty throngs who gather after midnight. Just don't expect cutting edge music.

The Copa used to be a great place to go to hear a variety of music that catered to all tastes, but now (on pride weekend and in preceding weeks) the music has only been house/dance music. This is disappointing, especially since there are so few places for the LGBT community to go in Oklahoma. Many different types of people visit the Copa, gay, straight, lesbian, and transgender. I hope that music can be played, as it has been in the past, that is more inclusive, unifying, and truly representative of the diverse LGBT community in our city.

Sadly, there are not very many options for a gay dance club in OKC. I've been coming to this club for years, but I've seen how this place has deteriorated. Tonight topped the icing on the cake. My sister wanted to come here to enjoy her birthday, but instead was faced with horrible service by the door staff. Never was anyone in our party biligerant or loud, and the girl at the door decided in order to get her point across, she had to be loud and offensive. I've worked in customer service and in the bar industry for years, and I know first hand how people can be especially when they consumed too much alcohol and rude, but in this case, no one was intoxicated and no one was rude in my party and there was ANY reason for my sister to be treated unfairly. I feel an apology is in order. I know one thing for sure, I will not be coming back to Copa ever again and will never recommend anyone to go.

On a weekend night (I'm speaking very generally, but it so happens that I'm writing this on a Friday night on PRIDE WEEK) you need more than TWO bartenders per bar. The wait is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. Hire more staff if you want to handle such a large crowd. The bartenders do the best they can, and the dancing/music is ok. Just don't expect to get a drink in under 20 minutes.
