Overall, we came away underwhelmed with our experience at the Copper Kettle. We arrived at 6 pm with a reservation for two, but we probably could have been seated without one. The place is small but includes both bar and outside seating. It has street and garage parking nearby. Service was a tad slow considering the amount of people in the restaurant. There were 2 on staff that night one who looked like the manager. While the server was nice and welcoming, the manager's demeanor was cold the entire meal which made us feel as if we did something wrong. We figured people have off days, so we tried not to dwell on it too much. Concerning the food, we started off with the mussels which took about 15 mins to arrive. They were served in tomato sauce with a single piece of "focaccia" more similar to toast with olive oil. Other than the bread, the app was yummy and we would order it again. The sauce had tons of garlic, which is our favorite. For entrees, we split the pot pie and the chickie sandwich. These came about 50 mins into the meal. The pot pie was done in a small cast iron, with the pie dough being overlayed on top. Nothing out of the ordinary with this one if you've had chicken pot pie before. Perhaps a tad runnier than we normally like but solid overall. The crust itself had a great taste. The chickie sandwich was a big miss for us. It was a large piece of fried chicken with slaw, a homemade bun, fries, and a side of ketchup. The chicken was fried well but lacked flavor. The bun was dry and dense. The slaw was fine but we probably would have preferred more of it to balance the sandwich. The best thing was the fries which were nice and crispy. We wrapped up with some dessert and cappuccino. They have an actual espresso machine that they use by the bar. This was made quickly and served hot. The desserts came shortly after and came in two small mason jars. We tried the butterscotch and Panna Cotta. Both were delicious and a nice way to end the meal. We're not in a rush to return, but will probably give it another go eventually.
Very very average. We came for brunch at 1pm on Sunday and the place was empty. The waiter was attentive but the food was extremely average. Not much thought or care into it to be honest. We ordered breakfast burger and a egg/tomato/focaccia dish but there was no focaccia it was just white toast. Huge disappointment. We got a side of bacon and our meals came with fries and it was just so greasy and unappetizing we were unable to finish it. Maybe lunch is better. The ricotta dip was good but I bet that’s something you can easily make at home and make it better. Overall wouldn’t recommend Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for all dietary restrictions Parking: Park on the street. Kid-friendliness: Could be kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair friendly
Amazing place. Food was so good!! Tasted authentic and fresh w no added nonsense like most places add... The chef even makes the desserts, And I never usually get dessert but we got a chocolate cake that was out of this world! Will definitely be going back!Food: 5/5
This tiny restaurant is outstanding . I have been here 5x and have tried almost everything on the menu. There is not a bad dish this chef makes. The pasta is incredible. The meats are insane from duck to beef to chicken they are all amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place. if you are in the area try it. Street parking can be tough at times but don't worry there is a large parking garage just across the street. The menu changes according to season or holiday and the food is always fresh. Not many places as good as this in Westchester honestly. Good variety great staff and awesome food. Parking: Street parking and also large paid lot across the street.
I will give 3 1/2 stars. This is a cute little place, staffs are attentive. We were here once for lunch and the dishes were better. The dinner we had recently, the food a bit bland in taste but cooked well. But maybe a one off, love to support small business.
They were accommodating of our brunch reservation for a large group, and the food was delicious. We had a lovely time.
I’m a huge fan of chicken scarp. And order it whenever I see it on the menu. Tonight Saturday when viewing the menu. I saw chicken scarp on the Thursday special. I asked, and the chef was more than happy to accommodate my request and I was able to try his version of my favorite dish. WOW. Chicken was tender, sausage crumbled and full of amazing hot cherry pepper flavored sauce. The sauce was abundant and when I asked for bread to “sop it up”, he graciously had some served to my table. Rumor has it this dish will become a staple on the menu soon. This restaurant never disappoints.
Thank you Joe and William for making lunch delicious. It was such a special treat. We had the ricotta dip, the fried chicken with veggies and the short ribs with veggies and polenta.... absolutely amazing! We can’t wait to come back! Thank you for having us.
Such a cool little place! Cocktail Manhattan was fantastic. Chopped Salad was sooo good. The crispy chicken sandwich was delicious, and the fries were perfect. The little personal squeeze bottle of ketchup was that extra that I didn't know I needed! The Cioppino was very good with perfectly cooked scallops.Food: 5/5
Copper Kettle is an outstanding restaurant. The owner, Joe, is truly a master of his craft. He studied at the Culinary Institute of America CIA, and it absolutely shows. Somehow he has mastered several schools of cooking- French, Central European, Italian, and others. He prepares duck confit as good as any I have had in Paris, schnitzel just like I had at the best restaurants in Vienna, and the best Latkes I have ever had. His number two guy, William, does an outstanding job of walking you through the menu, finding out what your tastes are, and matching you with the best dish to suit your taste. Joe also finds the freshest fish and makes monkfish and sole that is always the highlight of my day. Come to copper kettle if you want outstanding fresh food at reasonable prices prepared by a detail oriented, CIA educated chef.
