Story

Agriculture and Natural Resources
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County (CCEJC) has built a strong and solid reputation based on knowledge and expertise in the North Country agricultural community. Our staff can assist you in achieving your goals of profit in agriculture, abundant and safe food, a clean environment, and effective stewardship of natural resources.

Community Development
CCEJC's well trained staff offers assistance on a variety of energy programs for both businesses and residents of New York State, and recycling and composting education programs for residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties.

Food and Nutrition in Community Education:
Everyone eats! CCEJC offers nutrition education for everyone! From breastfeeding your infant, to enhancing your parenting skills, to offering strategies to reduce childhood obesity, to senior nutrition, we help families save money while enjoying a healthy lifestyle.

Youth and Family
A famous man once said, “A family in harmony will prosper in everything!” At CCEJC we wholeheartedly agree and promote healthy youth and family living. Our programming develops life skills and provides educational opportunities through a fun experiential learning style. We offer afterschool, school, 4-H, and military youth programming, parenting programs, and military family support programs at Fort Drum. We also own and operate 4-H Camp Wabasso in Redwood, New York, the only overnight residential youth camp in Jefferson County.
