Wife and I stopped in multiple times to cool off during the heat of the days and have a couple of drinks. Great little local bar. Gary was pleasant with conversation and local recommendations. The drinks were strong and the beers were cheap. Highly recommended to stop here with your patronage. You may even see a parade go by like we did, who knows!
Respect the entertainers and staff and you will be greeted with open arms...and legs! The bartenders were fantastic and poured great drinks and had good humor. My friend and I may have put a couple of the dancers through college during our visit and it was well worth it. We each had our favorites but every single dancer was awesome!
Drinks are strong, yet super affordable, especially for a bar in the Quarter. Since this is literally steps to my front door, I've stopped in multiple times and both the bartenders are always friendly and welcoming. Full disclosure, I've only stopped by during happy hour, but at that time of the day, the vibe is always amazingly chill and everyone is super friendly making the Corner Pocket my very mostest favorite neighborhood gay bar.
My wife and father-in-law and myself dropped in in the early afternoon and enjoyed one-dollar beer, top-notch service and good conversation for a few relaxing hours. We left before the entertainment began not our scene, but our afternoon there was time well spent.
Don’t go if you are in a mixed group!! I was part of a bachelor party for my favorite gay couple. We were a group of 3 girls and 7 guys. I walked in first, and made sure to follow the rules. My cellphone in my purse, ID plus money in hand. The bouncer gave me a weird look, took my ID and asked me where my male escort was... this question threw me off but I opened the door behind me, pointed outside, and told him that I was part of a bachelor party of 3 girls and 7 guys. I grabbed the hand of the closed dude in our group. He gave the bouncer his ID, and then the bouncer asked my friend what my name was, he answered correctly. “No! Get out,” he yelled at the both of us. Confused we went out to talk to the rest of the party. One of grooms went in to explain the situation, and the bouncer at the door lost it, and kicked him out. I did notice that there was no women inside. I guess to be a patron you have to physically look like a dude. I get the hesitation to let women into gay clubs. You don’t want straight women taking over spaces that don’t belong to them. In this case I was with a group to celebrate a male gay couple getting married! This put a damper on the night, since we had to walk away from the rest of the fun bars to get there. I wish we were warned about their prejudices which are both illegal and ironic, we wouldn’t have even bothered to go.
After a couple of trips to New Orleans I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the most fun bar in town. For some they may think it's sleazy. For those people I ask ... What did you expect from a gay bar? Class and sophistication? The dancers were cute, the drinks reasonable, and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Got to meet the guy running the bar, and he's a cool guy so stop and chat with him if you get the chance. The dancers were some of the nicest people I met in New Orleans. No need to be shy with them, and be generous. They work hard for the money. Then again it's hard to NOT be generous here! :
Definitely my favorite place to go while visiting! The guys make you feel at home! A great show to experience
Not your typical French Quarter gay bar experience. Drinks are cheap but expect a cover during busy times like Southern Decadence. Dancers are generally friendly, though some will only give you just enough attention to give a tip before moving down the bar to flirt with the next customer. Don't use your phone here - at all. They're very strict about no photos some of the dancers may have or eventually seek professional careers and wouldn't want a patron's snuck shirtless pic to potentially derail their aspirations . Just come to enjoy the unique atmosphere, conversation with your friends, and the sensory overload of hot, shirtless guys of all kinds.
The "dancers" a little more aggressive for my taste. But, this was a great bar to drink at. The bartenders are really great, very attentive and the guys are nice to look at. They run all colors and body types with frequent wardrobe changes aka change their undies. There is a resident DJ playing some tunes and also a pool table in the back.
Was in New Orleans for the first time and went here each night of our stay3 nights Had a great time! Drink prices seemed reasonable and we weren’t charged a cover unlike how was mentioned in a previous review from someone else’s review post. Not sure if they charge one during peak times of the year but at least not for us at the end of February. Some guys were sexier than others, but that’s par for the course I’d say.
