I have not had good experiences with Costco Pharmacy.  I always have an uneasy feeling that the staff is doing me a favor by allowing me to do business there.  There have been two situations in the past where they had run out of the probiotic that I use.  I was told to come back the next day.  I did, waited in line for several minutes, only to find out that they still didn't have the product.  Running out of a product is not incredibly uncommon.  Not knowing when the inventory will be restocked is really frustrating.
Recently, I went to Costco to get a flu shot.  I arrived about ten minutes before closing and was informed that it was too late to get the shot. ( in spite of the fact that it clearly states that you can get the shot during pharmacy hours). Since there was some paperwork to fill out I thought it was reasonable to deny me the service at that time, so I asked for the paperwork so that I could return the next day ready to go.  
I filled out the paperwork and returned the next day 25 minutes before closing and was denied service again.  My wife spoke with the pharmacist who relented and agreed to give me the shot ( I was ready to leave and never come back).  After roughly a ten minute wait I was told that my insurance card wouldn't run in the system.  It turns out that the tech had used a card that was in the database from last year.  That card had expired because I had to change insurance.  The frustrating thing is that I went to the trouble to fill out the paperwork with the correct card number.  They took my new card and left to try to process the claim.  After fifteen minute wait they came back and said that they couldn't make it work.
I will find another place to get my flu shot and probiotic.  The combination of incompetence and lack of customer service requires me to make this decision and to warn others to expect the same.  The staff is much more worried about when they get to go home than taking care of customers.

BEST prices for prescriptions anywhere!  Even cheaper to pay cash than the co-pay for insurance! Always the same friendly and helpful staff!
