The Country String Shop is a violin shop in the South Central Pennsylvania area which specializes in the service and care of stringed instruments. We feature quality handmade instruments at affordable prices. All our instruments are setup and accessorized in our own workshop, with quality materials preferred by teachers and professionals. In addition to refurbished instruments, we offer new violins by various makers, as well as our own Robert Kain handmade instruments. We service every instrument we sell. Our in-house repair service and over 35+ years experience assure that every instrument is setup and accessorized for optimal playabililty ... giving the player every advantage to succeed.

Every time I have any issues with any of my instruments from guitars, basses, banjos to transducers and electronics, Bob Kain analyzes and fixes the problem 100% of the time.  Almost as impressive is the turnaround time and price. Quick and fair. Bob and his wife Nancy are easy to work with and you get a feeling of trust immediately. The Country String Shop is the only place I will take my instruments for repairs. I give it my highest recommendation.

Just might be the worst customer service ever. Just moved here my daughter has four different instruments. Needed to get her violin strings replaced and they refused to do it because we didn’t buy it there. Asked if they knew somewhere in the area who could they said they wouldn’t help us. Good news for Walmart they aren’t the worst anymore.

Country Strings works with the customer to make sure they have quality instruments to have success making music! Owner Bob Kain's extensive experience as an educater and luthier enriches the experience of the customer; parent, student, and teacher. His wife Nancy is highly professional and detailed completing the Country Strings team.

Bob's violins are so nice.  I have worked with Bob for a long time, getting high quality bows, violin, viola, cases, strings, rosin, 2 ukeleles, guitar and even a starter violin for my daughter.  His violins have such an amazing sound.  I have gotten so many compliments on the sound quality of my violin and viola that he made.  He is honest and fair with pricing.  He has done repairs on instruments for me in the past, and does a good job with turn- around time on repairs.  I have gone to other shops in the area and never was pleased with the work that was done.  I will not trust anyone else in the area with my violin.

Bob is very knowledgeable on string instruments.  He makes his own violins and are absolutely beautiful!  Very friendly place to go.
