Story

Coupa Café opened in the Y2E2 Building at Stanford University in October of 2008. Housed in the new Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building, which represents the cutting edge of sustainability and is the “greenest” building on the Stanford University Campus, Coupa Café continues its philosophy of working with local farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture, fair trade and eco-friendly practices.

This location also features the best single estate, certified organic and fair trade coffee on Campus. In Harmony with the spirit of the Y2E2 Building, Coupa Café uses sutainable eco-friendly foodservice packaging composed of biodegradable products manufactured from renewable resources. Prices have risen precipitously while the food quality (wraps are almost all tortilla, half the filling on sandwiches) has dropped over the last year. I would avoid it unless desparate to overpay.

All the great drinks and some of the baked goods from the main store on Ramona. The Spicy Maya Hot Chocolate is outstanding and the Marron is a great, stiff latte. The pickup area is a little confusing, sort of blocked by the order line. There's tons of seating inside and out (though maybe not when Stanford is in session).

Best food in the engineering quad. Crêpes are great. Beverly Hills chopped salad is delicious as well!

I go here only when desperate. The staff seem to have an attitude. I don't get it. The other Coupa's on campus seem fine. Luckily many other options relatively close by, so I'm not as jaded and bitter as I'd be had this place been my only option in this area. The food is otherwise decent, so I'll give it more than one star.

Delicious coffee. But be careful that the medium size is smaller than normal one at the other coffee shops.
