Story

Adventures in FRESH seafood. A St. Armands landmark for over 30years. All of our fish is flown in via Federal Express and filleted in house daily. Menu writen on a daily basis consisiting of 8 to 10 different fin fish selections, several different cuts of meat and a large raw bar consisting of a large variety of oysters & shellfish.

We were not really happy with the restaurant. Our waiter was very good,the food was mediocre at best. I had the lobster tail and I don't remember lobster being that tough. The apple dessert and peanut butter pie were good, the key lime pie was not very good. We were in Sarasota visiting a friend whom I haven't seen in a few years, were sitting at the table chatting after dinner and we were being stared down like they wanted us to leave. The atmosphere was nice but I felt like they thought they were better than us. As we were leaving we asked the gentleman where the ladies room was and he looked at us and pointed, like we were being an inconvenience to him. It's priced like a high end restaurant and the "atmosphere" is the same. I would not go back. Not my kind of place.

The ultimate romantic atmosphere accompanied with gentle piano notes by a wonderful musician, we set this night as one of our favorites in St. Armand's Circle. I suggest to get there early and dine outside....for a totally relaxing, dining experience. Enjoy the serene evening atmosphere, complete with elegant lights draped from trees...light waterfalls of light. A place that your lady will thank you for the over and over again. This is not an inexpensive dining establishment. The food is indicative of the great care in its selection process of fish, crab, and selection of prime steak by management. You get what you pay for. The cocktails were served with reverence in their presentation, the oysters reflected the starlit night...so fresh and delectable that we ate 2 dozen. St. Armand Circle has been one of my favorite places in Florida and its crown jewel restaurant is the Crab and Fin.

The food, service and attention to details was simply outstanding. The whole experience was definitely of the caliber of a Michelin starred restaurant that you would find in France. The service was very professional (anticipating our preferences without asking) but non-intrusive, yet personable and friendly. The restaurant decor is minimalistic (in a good way) but very comfortable leaving all the room to the food and impeccable service. We can't resist talking about our wonderful experience with our foodies' friends and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

In town with the family and wanted to try something new. Usually we go to Columbia which is always good. Crab and Fin is listed as "casual" and "$$" which was perfect but not true. Upon arrival we noticed all the other patrons were dressed up and the prices were definitely more in the $$$ range. Highlights are the Tomahawk Prime Rib for 2 at $100 and the 8 lb King Crab sets you back $565. Food was good, service was good and we will come back as a couple when we are more dressed up.

Good food and helpful staff even when busy. Went with a party of 9. In season there is no easy parking. The range of fresh seafood dishes was very good. Everyone in our party felt the food was very good. There were no long waits between courses. Prices were typical for the area and season. The place looks like they could give it a clean and it looked rather dated. But this did not distract from the good food.
