The food was good. The service was slow. We waited 25 minutes before our ordered was taken. When our food came out it was warm not hot. We had to keep asking for refills. Our waitress was either over whelmed or having a bad day. I have never had service like this at CB. I will give it another try in the future.
Unfortunately our experience wasn’t that great. First they forgot a side for my son. Mistakes happen sometimes, I got it and I could over look that. However, it didn’t end there. My green beans for oily. To the point where I thought my green beans were caught in a gulf coast oil spill. Not only that, but the hamburger my son ordered and the hamburger steak must have came from the same cow. They were both so dry, it tasted like the cow hadn’t had a drink of water in all its life. It was cooked for so long that the fat in the burger must have somehow evaporated. Really, they were so dry and hard I could have put laces on them and worn them for shoes.
Great service and great tasting food. Will be coming back. Store was very nice and clean. Overall awesome experience and will be coming back to this Cracker Barrel
We stopped during a busy dinner, with a short 10 minute wait to be seated. The pictures I posted are some of the items that caught our attention while waiting. Our lovely server was extremely sweet, and apologized for not having the new menu completely memorized. She'd been away from work due to the pandemic. She made my friend the BEST pot of coffee! Friend even filled her thermos to take home. I decided to enjoy the chopped steak dinner with turnip greens and bacon mac and cheese. My friend had the same dinner, but with broccoli crisp not soggy and mashed, with the onions and gravy on top. My turnip greens were tender and seasoned perfectly. I wish my mac and cheese hadn't been bland. I'd have asked for something else if the bacon hadn't been crispy and saved the flavor a bit. Overall though, if it wasn't impolite to lick the plate, I believe my friend would have done so. She even decided to take a plate for her husband. Lastly, remember to have the cornbread!
Love Cracker Barrel! Specially Winter Months the huge Fireplace is Fabulous! Sorry forgot food photos, I got seated near Firplace and just Love it! But, they really have a Nice Menu, I like the Briscut Lunch, but today I had the Old Timers Breakfast for Lunch! Just $8.99 includes 2 eggs, choice of Meats, Home Made Biscuts & Gravy! Also comes with a side, I got the Baked Apples, so good! Their Coffee was so smooth I had 2 cups! Servers are so nice & curtious, I really enjoyed my visit! Of course I had to browse thru the Lovely Gift shop! "I'll be Back"
Service was up to par but food was horrible. Wife had meatloaf and she took a bite and found a huge piece of what looked like wax paper in the bite which she had to extract from her mouth. I ordered momma’s pancakes and they were very tough not fluffy like I expected. I also had sausage patties and scrambled eggs. The sausage patties were way over cooked and hard as a hockey puck. The eggs were over cooked also. One consolation is my wife was compensated for her dinner.
We were in the restaurant today for lunch, my waitress was exceptional. However we were informed after being the restaurant for twenty minutes that they only had 1 cook and there are 3 orders ahead of ours. No worries, I understand things happen but when asked for the check, I was charged $6.40 for two teas. Great customer service, I only have an hour for lunch and my friend drove 25 minutes to meet me for lunch.
My husband, son and I have eaten at the location in Southern Pines N.C. quite a few times whenever we go to doctor's appointment s. Tonight was disappointing. The server was uncertain as to whether she was even our server or not. My husband and I ordered the four vegetable plates. Our son ordered a burger and fries. We waited around twenty five minutes or longer before getting our meals. When we finally did it wasn't even warm! She did not bring our silverware. We had to ask for it. The coffee was old and nasty tasting as well as cold! Our son requested ketchup for the few fries they brought him. We had to ask more than once to get that! My husband did not get the slaw he ordered. He finally had to get up and go locate the server to request the slaw he had initially ordered with his dinner! The server just did not seem to have the knowledge and experience to work as a server especially in a Cracker Barrel restaurant that is usually known for their fine service and great food. However, not this time though. We are considering finding another restaurant to dine with on our next visit to Southern Pines. We also requested cornbread and the server brought biscuits instead. Then we had to wait for several more minutes to get the cornbread. More training of your employees might would help or hire folks with previous server experience.
Upon entering the dining room, it was a bit cold, and my wife suffers with being cold... I asked if the smoldering fire could be refreshed since we were sitting directly in front of the fireplace... Our waiter said he would ask... He returned to say they were out of firewood, but readily admitted that there was firewood in the hearth in plain sight... I despise liars... Shame on the manager who sent this waiter to say such.
My dad likes to take me here when i visit. The staff is always wonderful and always stop by my dads table to say hey they know its him cause they can hear him talking and his laugh the food is always good and we always have a nice visit.Food: 5/5
