This is in Cape Girardeau Mo and is pretty much like other Cracker Barrels. Good place for comfort food with good sized portions. This site was a little slower than others we have been in but still good.

Great chicken and dumplings and no complaints on the food, but, I have to say, that they lack alot to be desired in their seating of the people who are waiting when there is no one at the podium, and the waitresses, need to have a little more people skills and know the menu, before they are put out on the floor to take care of the people who come there expecting good food and good and prompt service. When you request more of something and your about the only two couples left in the restaurant, it seems strange that it is so easy to forget to bring out the rest of the order...

Stopped for lunch.  Seated right away and ordered the M-F lunch special of House Salad w/Grilled Chicken and a Bakd Potato.
  Dee served us promptly and was efficient.   The lunch was very affordable, just over 13 dollars, even with our $5 tip we walked out paying less than a fast food lunch would have been, total of about $18.  
  Nice dinnerware, cutlery and glassware, our food served to us with a smile.  I recommend  Cracker Barrel to our fellow travelers if you are in need of refreshment why don't you give them a try.

I have eaten at this specific Cracker Barrel for years and am generally pleased. But, my visit this week was the exception. The restaurant was not crowded at all, but service was very slow. I had to send the biscuits back because they were under cooked. The country ham was badly over cooked (think shoe leather) and the grits were tepid at best. I will visit here again, but if the experience is similar, it will be my last trip.
