Craftsman Cliff Roasters is roasting quality coffee beans in the best way! The owner is so committed to roasting the best beans and is excited to talk about the process and his roasting machines. This is no longer a coffee shop with brewed drinks, I made that mistake based on older reviews when they were serving drinks, but I'm so glad we wandered in. The guys clued us in to Cream and La Stella's love them both! where their beans are used to make fantastic coffee. We had a great conversation with the guys that work there because my mom sews handbags out of coffee bean burlap bags. I love, love, love the art on the packaging for their coffee beans! The beans are flavorful and make the best grind. I use them for espresso shots. Craftsman is worth a visit, even if you buy their product at another location!
Thoroughly impressed with Craftsman Cliff. Matt is so passionate about his craft. The chocolate is amazing. I look forward to many more trips to the roastery. Highly recommended!
Such a great place to stop in for a coffee or tea and a bite to eat! My boyfriend and I wear pleasantly surprised by how good the grilled cheese was, the bread was a honey wheat I believe and really seemed to make it! Also, the little details are very sweet! The what seems like handmade mugs, and these small plates image below with their logo is such a great touch!!
This boy can roast some beans! Coffee & Cacao- Love the chocolate just as much as the Coffee!
We had family buy us a few items from Craftsman cliff roasters over the last few years. We finally made the decision to stop in and very glad we did. Hondasaurus Dark Roast is amazing. Very knowledgeable and enjoyed seeing where it is all roasted. Also enjoy their 100% cocoa for cooking and in some coffee.

Norwich has needed a real, quality coffee place like this for a long time! I was impressed with how well done everything in the place was. All the details down to the smallest things seemed very thought out and artfully executed. The mocha I had was amazing because they roast both the coffee beans AND the cacao in house! I mean, who does that?! Amazing! I also bought some espresso beans to grind and brew at home. They were perfectly done, not over-roasted like some major brands who shall not be named ; They know their coffee at this place. The owner and staff were super friendly and personable. This place gets a full recommendation from me. Well done, Matt!
We ordered two hot lattes just after opening on a Saturday. Great quality lattes, the best we've had in the Groton/Mystic/Norwich area. Owner was personable and looks like he really enjoys his craft. We look forward to visiting again and highly recommend you check the place out! You should also grab some of their chocolate while you're here!
Went there the other day for a quick iced coffee and a snack. Enjoyed the cold brew although I’d say it was a little too watered down. The baked goods were delicious and the environment was very welcoming. I enjoyed the nautical rustic feel. I was very impressed with this small gem in downtown and think it’s a great asset to the city. I’m looking forward to trying more coffee as well as the teas and handcrafted sodas!
I know good coffee and espresso drinks and this place knows how to make them Perfecto. Go try this place, and see how you like it. No Starbucks burned tasting beans here they roast the beans right here in the shop for freshness and terrific flavor.
