Reviews
This is an edited review. Streamlined to get the important info out there. I appreciate Credit Acceptance for giving me an auto loan when no one else would (the place I got my car from shotgunned my credit through 12 agencies and C/A was the only one to say yes). It is at the maximum legal interest rate in my state, though. I recommend them if you have no credit or bad credit and are looking to turn that around, but be ready to pay a LOT of money for interest. If that is your situation, go for the lowest possible amount you can finance so you'll have lower payments and better odds of actually paying the debt off. I haven't had to deal with their customer service but I've heard plenty of bad things so be prepared to handle everything yourself. They report to your credit bureaus so if you pay your payments on time (preferably a day or two early to make sure it goes through on time) you'll get your credit turned around in no time. Thanks to these guys, two years after buying my car and getting some credit history established, I have been able to buy a house. I am the youngest in my family to do this and... Well, my house is a LOT nicer than anyone else's in my family too. These guys helped me by reporting my credit activity, but what made the biggest difference was never being late on my payments. Just watch out for that interest and make sure that you aren't biting off more than you can chew.

I recently purchased a car with credit acceptance. This was my first experience purchasing a car. They repossessed my car within 6 months. I am shocked people have left reviews that they will work with you. They asked for weekly payments which brought my monthly total to higher than my rent. Credit companies should work with people, not against them. I should not have accepted the deal, as I was doomed to fail. I am not the only one who made a bad choice here, they did too. The issue here is who had more experience and who claims to be the more responsible of the two. I learned my lesson, I hope they eventually do too.

Would give 0 stars if i could. Most disrespectful people i have ever dealt with. Do not buy a car with them you will regret it. Paid 19,500.00 for my car and after thier financing it jumped up to 39,500.00. What a scam. Should be illegal. They pray on people.

Credit Acceptance has been amazing with me since my purchase earlier this year. I lost my job for a couple of months and I still applied payments when I could and they worked with me the entire time to get back on track and keep my vehicle at the same time. The staff has always been very professional and understanding. They have a job to do but they also place themselves in your shoes as they are also people who can potentially run into life issues. If I ever decide to get another vehicle in the coming years I would personally request to be financed through credit acceptance if possible.

Saw a car on the lot for 5,000 and change and thought not a bad deal even with financing fees bringing it up some. Well "some" was a lot more than I thought. A 10 year old car is not worth 15,000 the blame can be laid on me as well as the dealership and this company. The dealership told me it would be a 3 year loan and Credit Acceptance say 6 year. So I was told a lie by one or both. I wish I could have read reviews I would have left and never looked back had I known then what I know now. Seriously anyone going here whatever you finance expect to add that kind of difference. This will be the first and last car I buy from a dealer.
