Based on my experience, the pastry wasn't that good. I ordered a cinnamon roll, which I thought was another product which looks like a cinnamon roll with pecans. I was given the cinnamon roll donut, which at $2.50 is slightly expensive. Since I didn't check and verify the to-go bag, I had to eat it later. This product was extremely oily, and cinnamon was very minimal. The glaze wasn't too much. The other products looked okay like the croissants, but this donut is not their strong suit.

Friendly people. Great muffins and other sweet goodies. Good coffee. Not expensive.

I asked them if they could just put in a request for the future for considering getting vegan nondairy cream cheese for their bagels, they told me immediately and unequivocally no? I don't understand but obviously won't be back soon.

Saddens me to give a poor review to an independent local place, but alas. My family and I have been coming here for years - actually surprised that I had not reviewed it before - and we have always been satisfied. The staff has been friendly enough and the food has been fine. Coffee and sandwiches have been nothing spectacular, and nowhere near as good as the Portola store, but fine. One of the best parts about this Creightons is that local folks hang out there: old guys sit around shooting the breeze, some of the cops interact with locals, I've been known to park here and work, etc. Decent food, but a great local vibe. Over the years, this has also been where many kids come to hang out after school, games at the baseball field, etc. Recently after a softball practice, some parents gave permission for 3-4 of our middle school kids to hang out there, do homework and wait for us to pick them up later. The first day, a couple of their group came in with food from another place so the entire group was asked to leave. They did tell the lady that they were going to buy something, but she yelled at them kicked them out anyway. Fair enough. So the next day they tried again, this time without any outside food except for a soda bottle in the side pouch of one of the girls bags. Again, they were going to buy something. Same response: yelled at and kicked out again. So much for friendly neighborhood hangout. Now I am sure that the owner has had problems with young people in the past, but even when I went to talk with her, the first reaction was hostile, so I have no doubt that our kids were treated with the same kind of disrespect . . . our girls simply left when treated this way and I am proud of them for not reciprocating. I totally get than a business has every right to refuse service, but we will no longer be patronizing Creightons in Diamond Heights. 1 Star.
