Great, a person wants to stay relatively conscious when they're in someone else's home.

I may have come on a bad day, but we really didn't see any wildlife. But the real reason for 3 stars is that a lot of the trails are basically sand and dirt clumped together which makes for a pretty uneven and taxing hike.

A quiet area to explore and discover. There are dozens of geocaches around the trails. The area just south of the Cypress Dome trails is also open and accessible by a gate along the southern fence line.

Totally off the beaten path, but not too far of a drive from the Fort Myers beach area. We camped with the kids here for spring break and we had the place to ourselves. Actually, there was a cow that trampled into our campsite one night, and the mosquitos were impressive. But you can't beat the price: free!!! And it really is a lovely place.
