Love Critter Sitters! My dog was a patient there for about two years. He went to doggy daycare a few times a week and stayed multiple times for overnight boarding. Dr. Venard was also his veterinarian. The whole staff does an awesome job, got to know my dog very well, and provides a great service to the valley. We will miss Critter Sitters!

Brought my pupper, Wilhelm, in the other day after he was caught in a brawl with a mountain snake. The kind folk her were able to rehabilitate him and remove the venomous pathogen from his little paw.

Dr. Venard, has been our vet. for 11years. Best vet. ever. The entire, Venard family, is outstanding!

As I cycled cross country with my dog, this vet clinic was nice enough to donate food and money to our ride. They also looked over Fiji and socialized with her. They genuinely cared for a non-patient, so I can only imagine how they treat their regulars.

I am not usually one to write reviews but after picking my dog up today from Critter Sitters in Gunnison, CO, I feel it s imperative that I explain my experience. My dog is a one year old rottweiler/Rhodesian ridgeback mix. She s big and needs lots of playtime. For the past six months, I have been taking her to Oh Be Dogful up in Crested Butte because I work up there. Today, I didn t have to go up there, though, so I decided to try out a doggy daycare place in Gunnison. I decided on Critter Sitters for a few reasons--one being that they give you your first two days free (per a coupon downloaded from the Trippons app). My dog is extremely social; she plays well with other dogs and is never timid at first encounter. I dropped her off at 11am, filled out the normal paper-work, and left feeling fine. When I picked her up at 5:30pm, I asked the girl at the front desk how she did. Her reply: She was nervous at first but then she jumped right in. This was the first RED FLAG because my pup is never timid--she has run through a herd of cows with a smile on her face. The second RED FLAG: she was extreeeemely energetic when they brought her out to me. Normally, when I pick her up form Oh Be Dogful I have to lift her up in to the car because she s so tired. When I picked her up today, she literally bragged me to the car. Third REG FLAG: she threw up three times as soon as we got home. I have not fed her since this morning and there was no time for her to eat something bad before we arrived home. Fourth RED FLAG: she smells like urine and the fur on her stomach is hard/crusty as if she s been sitting in pee for a while. She went swimming yesterday (despite the cold), so her fur was particularly clean before I dropped her off. All in all, I am thankful that the first day is free because I will DEFINITELY NOT bring her back again. From my experience today, this is NOT somewhere you want to bring your dog for doggy daycare.
