I have seen 3 concerts here in the past year now. Really great venue in a central city location. Unique layout, but I appreciate the division between drinking and non-drinking sections. The floor does have springs yes, but you feel them more when walking around than in the middle of a mosh pit. The highlight is definitely the staff who are always great, better policies than many other venues, and the decor inside the ballroom itself is really pretty!
We were lucky enough to see Floater and Three for Silver at the Crystal Ballroom in December. The venue is classy and nostalgic with a large open floor and balcony. There are 2 bars along the walls, and the beer is great. Everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. The place just has a great vibe and atmosphere. There is a parking garage across the street as well, which is nice. Record store below that and a pub on the 1st floor of the venue. Plenty of hotels within walking or short driving distance. Highly recommend.
First time back in a a while and it was just as it had been. Staff was friendly and helpful. Floating dance floor is always a unique experience. Plenty of "watering holes" so you never are more than two or three deep in line for an adult beverage. The chandeliers and art make it a cool and funky vibe. I would go back to see another show.
This is not the first time I've been there, one of my favorite things about it is you feel like you're in an exclusive concert for just a few locals. The stage is just barely above you but you can see pretty well. The sound system is Bose and beyond killer! The lighting is pretty spectacular although I find most bands also bring ancillary lighting per show. The reason to go here is probably the flexible floor as in it has springs underneath it. It's totally awesome! And honestly my favorite part of going to concerts here. All the times that I've been here the staff has been Rock solid, and I know that changes with every concert but it seems like they hire good people. It does require a bit of a walk upstairs but there is an elevator to get you there. We were there for some reggae action Iration, but I've also seen the Violent Femmes here and it was a total Rockstar show. You can watch the show from the balcony or from the stage area both offer a completely different feel depending upon what you're into at the moment. They usually have drinks in the back when you need a refill. If you have an opportunity to catch your favorite band here definitely take it it's worth it.
I've had some of the best nights of my life at this venue. Though the sound can be muddy, and the place really gets packed. There is still jot a bad place on the floor. The bouncing floor is always a fun addition to rocking out and jumping up and down. The staff is always pleasant and attentive to their jobs. Will be going to the Crystal Ballroom until one of us no longer exists
Came down for a show from vancouver b c. Portland is such a cool city and this venue is a great example of that. Old and historic. Cool building huge space. Big bonus points for selling pizza at the bar
I'd change the day of show Tix to be a guarantee for those who don't have the same level of luxuries as others I had to pay for 2 because someone stole his ID & of course no refunds so donated the Xtra ticket I really hope that someone who needed it got it there should be a way to get back at least door cost, I think that would be fair or put to some merch you,the bands and clubs are satisfied with unforseen incidents Savvy ‍ Pete
A great venue for music and drinks. But not great if you're a smoker. Security is very strict about allowing people outside to smoke and it took forever before they'd let anyone out of the building and gain re-entry.
I love this venue because it's small and feels like you can really get more up close and personal to the artist. The floor is a little scary though, you can feel it moving like it's going to cave in. We didn't order any food, but the drinks were strong and they allowed us to order up to 4 at a time so we didn't have to waste a bunch of time in the drink line all night. Pauly D was awesome!
Saw Prof last night. Most amazing. The staff handled a variety of less than ideal incidents in a very professional & organized manor. They way they had the 21+ section setup was great. The fact that they have free ice-cold water accessible was a game changer. I'll continue to see shows here, absolutely
