Campground and Herkimer Diamond Mining!

Story

The office is open daily from 9 am to 7 pm during the season (mid-April to mid-Oct). The mines are open daily 9 am to 7 pm (or dusk, whichever comes first). The "diamonds" are Herkimer Diamonds, a special type of quartz crystal found only in this part of upstate New York. We have sites for tents or RVs, and also camping cabins. Super friendly staff, clean bathrooms and showers and large campsites bordered by plenty of trees for privacy. The two mines onsite are great for hunting for "diamonds" and I found them a lot easier to move around in than other, larger operations nearby, especially with young kids.

I love the natural setting, with plenty of room for kids to play, and, as miners themselves, the new management is VERY focused on providing you with some of the best Herkimer Diamond mining experiences ever! Can't wait to go back!

Beautiful and clean campground! The owners are so nice! I didn't get the mans name in the office who helped us all weekend but he was awesome!! We will definitely be back!!

just got back from the camp with my troop (BSA 32, NY)! its to this day, one of my favorite camps i have been to in my life, besides yellow stone national park. the owners are the nicest people. I cant wait to go there again!!!
