Staff was nice, not enough garlic and too much cumin in everything. I won't return. Small to go portions also. The shredded beef was 1/3 cup of that and mostly bell pepper. The puff pastry dessert was hard as a rock and not edible. A waste of $50. Too bad, I love Cuban food and wanted to love this too.

Their incredible food is matched by their remarkably friendly (and holy cow SPEEDY) service. It's a wonderful part of my week to stop by for lunch.

One of the best spots in San Mateo for lunch. Great sandwiches, salad, true Cuban spices. And a surprisingly good sound system, fun Cuban music. Big screen tv for sports.

I was born and raised in Cuba. If anyone thinks this is authentic Cuban food, you are so wrong. The service was tacky they act like they didn't care. They just seem to add cumin and pepper to the food. You did not taste the love ,the time, and the commitment that Cuban food has. Not to mention it's a hole in the wall. And after all that they have jalapeños and stuff that does not go into Cuban food. Very tacky will never go there again. Don't waste your money go somewhere else. Very expensive for a waste of time. I should've gone to Taco Bell or anywhere else.

Was in Santa Cruz and headed to Cuban Kitchen in San Mateo. Enjoyed the Bistec plate and the guac with freshly made chips... Yum! My husband opted for the Cubano sandwich and loved his as well. If we're ever back in the area, we'll be sure to stop by!
