So many Orlando foodies know this spot used to be Sapporo ramen. An absolute gem on colonial drive. Unfortunately it closed. I'm not certain the information is correct but DaSun was opened by former employee and staff of Sapporo. With that being said. The interior looks almost identical and the menu and order system of ordering up front is all exactly the same. Me and my friend got classic Tonkotsu Ramens, a Takoyaki and Steamed Pork Bao. It looked and tasted very close but it was definitely not the same as Sapporo but I was very happy to eat it anyways. The Takoyaki were hot and fresh and the buns were also soft and delicious. The women behind the counter was so precious and sweet and she really made the experience for us so much more kind and welcoming. My heart will always miss Sapporo but I am happy to know the legacy and torch is being carried on by Da Sun.
We went there excited to eat the foods pictured in the menu but left there a little disappointed. The atmosphere was nice and the lady working there was nice. For appetizers the takoyaki was delicious not sure what it was but it was good. The bbq pork bun was terrible. Tasted microwaved right out of the package. Dry and very little filling. The fried rice was good but nothing special. The ramen broth tasted very good but it lacked the frills shown in the pictures. It dosent come with the egg so make sure you order it with egg if you want it.
They used to own by Japanese but now I guess change to Chinese owner. This is the first time I came back since owner changed. Actually food is ok and price is fair, you get what you paid for. But honestly if you are looking for decent and good quality food this is not the place. But I will be back.
Very casual restaurant with the basics and not much else. Both tonkotsu ramen broth and miso ramen broth were good, but the noodles were overcooked. They also used somen instead of the chewier tonkotsu ramen noodles in Tonkotsu ramen. Toppings were decent, but the egg is not the typical marinated soft boiled ramen egg. It was hard boiled and cold. Their onigiri were definitely homemade, but the rice wasn't flavored with sushi rice seasoning, so it was a bit salty. Gyudon was just ok. Prices were very reasonable. You order up front, service was friendly. This is a convenient place if you're looking for ramen after grocery shopping at Enson, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.
Nice little restaurant and very friendly staff. The music they play is very relaxing and the food itself was delicious! It is somewhat self service in the sense you order and pay for your food before it’s served , but it’s brought to you right away. I ordered the Gyoza, Shoyu Ramen, Onigiri, and Taiyaki. The Onigiri has salmon inside something I’ve never seen before but it was so good!
Been coming here since it was originally Sapporo. I hadn’t been since it reopened as Da Sun so I stopped by and I’m glad I did! The Takoyaki and Korokke were fantastic just like I remembered. I didn’t get ramen this trip but the Gyudon was delicious! I wish I would of gotten the extra protein option
I ventured into the Chinatown in Orlando and found Da Sun. It was a great find! I was happy with the veggie miso ramen, though I wished the egg yolk was cooked softer. The broth was quite flavorful, and the bowl had a good amount of veggies. The service was quick and the prices are fair. Vegetarian options: The tofu in my bowl of vegetarian ramen doesn't actually come with the bowl - I had to add it a la carte, along with the egg. The base price is not expensive though, so it's not a big deal. My bowl came with bamboo shoots, bok choy, bean sprouts, carrots, and corn.
Had ramen, takoyaki, gyoza, and pork buns. Used to love this place under prior ownership in pre-covid days. My only down side was that some of the ingredients in the ramen were cold, most noticeable in the egg which was hard boiled, rather than soft boiled, and super cold. The junkie on the mall that approached me at the door was also a bit uncomfortable but not contributing to the review score, just awareness .
Quite nice place and good affordable food. The onigiri as appetizer hit the spot very nicely. Some pork buns and ramen very good to follow. My only thing I believe could make it better was nicer eggs on ramen. They were cold and what was supposed to be sold boil eggs, were clearly hardboiled. Still, this is not a high end restaurant, so for the price I paid in quite pleased.
This place is garbage. I ordered spicy miso ramen and received a glorified ramen that was suspiciously similar to a cup of noodle soup. No chance in hell, that broth was made in house. Unless they scooped the chicken seasoning into their boiling water. The BBQ Bun was a disappointment. Just BBQ sauce inside an undercooked Pillsbury biscuit. My dog didn't mind it but I can tell he respects me less for telling him it was a treat.
