I've gone to this bank a couple of times. The staff is very friendly. I even tried to apply for a car loan and the banker sat me down. Was super down to earth and told me I wasn't approved. Even if I wasn't approved he tried to help me get a good loan and help me with everything he could. All these bad rates it's because this new generation doesn't want to wait for 5 mins or less to be accommodated. The staff has always been more than 3 tellers. Great bank. Would definitely open an account with them. They are more restricted since it is a Federal bank.

WORST BANK EVER. I'm a county employee & got this bank to get paid sooner. I left Bank of America for them & it's the worst mistake ever. I'm going back to BOA. Outdated system, fraud reports have to be in person, they usually never give you a new card same day, you never get someone on the line when you need them, you need to go in person for everything. I just got my card stolen & guess what?! I haven't been able to speak to someone and I've called them 4 times today. I'm on hold for 10 mins & then the machine says system is down. They also take a really long time to give you back any money that was not done by you when you do a fraud report. DO NOT GO TO THEM!!!!! With BOA, I remember I'd just call them & do everything in the phone & get my money back instantly . When you go in person, prepare to wait for at least 20 minuets to get attended . To whatever branch you go to , it's all the same .

They tend to be very rude , and usually the know almost nothing , but do have great rates and makes it worth.

None of the financial institutions are perfect, every bank I have done business with has had flaws but DCFCU is pretty good. They are great with security alerts, I have suffered identity fraud in the past, and I feel better with them than my old nationwide bank. And they are community minded, not financially driven, offer good rates for credit cards and loans. Very low to no fees where applicable, easy money transfers. I would realistically give any bank 4 stars but DCFCU definitely doesn't deserve the "one star" people are giving it. It's not fancy like the for-profit Chase or BoA and you won't pay out of your nose or be required to keep a $1,500 minimum to avoid charges. The offices and website are lo-fi and that's why it's better for you. Do not let the reviews by people who look and compare to the for-profit banks sway you. DCFCU has everything you need.

Went through a voluntary repo with these people and there was no consideration or customer service to speak of. Every employee I dealt with in the short time they were financing a vehicle for me was inconsiderate or didn't know anything, or both. Very uncouth group of individuals working there. Their processes are beyond complicated and not customer-friendly. They rape you with rules and regulations that in turn cost you an additional arm and a leg on top of the crazy interest rates. If these are the only people that offer you financing, run. There's only one star because Google makes you assign a star number. If I had the option it would be zero or -1.
