Dan's is convenient, with several locations around town. They typically have a decent selection on most items. Sale items are a reasonable price, but Dan's regular prices are much higher on most items than other stores in Bismarck or Mandan. Their meat and deli department is unreliable in terms of quality. I have gotten moldy cheese and other items--which I intended to use immediately upon purchasing...but I had to return. At first I ignored these issues due to convenience and just got replacement groceries somewhere else. Then I started returning items (produce, deli meats and cheeses) if they had mold growing on them upon opening the package that very same day (their return policy is pretty good, I'll give them that). Now I just shop there if I need a quick ingredient.

Prices are generally higher than other grocery stores in Bismarck, but they do have good sales. They have a nice and clean store, good produce, and generally good item selections. However, I often don't find some of the brands & items that I prefer that aren't the big name brands. I'd love to see more natural food selections and a better bulk section. I also do not much care for the self check out machines, they're loud, slow, and the conveyer belts are completely unnecessary. This is the only store that I actually would rather wait in line for a cashier to ring up my items.

The fruit is usually the freshest out of all the grocery stores. The prices are higher than the other stores. Not as big of selection of foods as Walmart but cleaner and better fruit.

Prices are kind of high for regular grocery shopping, but this place is good for specialty items. They also make pretty good sushi!

I'm always in Dan's. One item, six items or a cart full. Clean, respectful, good prices and a very convenient location
