Somewhere between 40 - 50 years ago, when my daughters were small I bought myself a Raleigh bike at a local bike shop in Rye NY. It was really too big for me, so it didn't get a lot of use. It sat in my garage getting older and dustier.

Now, my oldest grandson is 16, taller than I ever was, with legs perhaps 6" longer than mine. He and the bike are the right size for each other.

On Saturday morning we (my grandson, the bike and I) went to Danny's Cycles in Rye Brook -- where we saw Jesse -- to see if: (1) The bike and the grandson were really the right size for each other; (2) What was needed to put the bike into first class condition; (3) What that would cost; (4) Whether it made sense to invest in the bike; and, if so, how long it would take to have it repaired and ready.

We were told by Jesse: (1) The bike was a good bike; (2) My grandson and the bike were size-compatible; (3) It made more sense to service it than to trade it in on a new bike; (4) What it needed was a complete tune up as well as two new tires and inner tubes; (4) What it would cost; and (5) It would be ready by Wednesday -- some four days later.

Well, it wasn't ready Wednesday. It was ready one day later than we brought it in -- Sunday afternoon. Nice!

My grandson and I went to pick it up, and he's now happily riding it.

It was an altogether perfect experience. We're happy in every way.

This is not our first experience with Danny's, we've bought multiple bikes from them for our grandsons as they've graduated from smaller to bigger. And every experience has been a winner. We've always gotten good advice and good service.

We'll be back again.

Great buying experience at Danny's Rye Brook.  Experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly bike professionals that fitted me out with 2 bikes and accessories.  Good value and great service.  Definitely recommend going to Danny's Rye Brook.

The service was great here, I highly recommend buying and bringing your bike in for service. Twice already there were small glitches with my mountain bike after hard riding, and the manager and team were able to fix at cost, as they understood the situation. They went above and beyond in making me happy, and able to ride again. You can tell they want to still be in business and take it seriously.

These guys are pros. Great work, reasonably priced and did everything to make my bike perfect but found ways to save me money by not replacing parts that they could salvage. Great Dudes too!!
