Story

Daryl's has been serving Redlands residents and their pets since 1975. We are an independent, family-owned business that aims to provide for all your pet needs! We carry reptiles, fish, small animals, and a wide variety of live foods, as well as all the supplies your pets could need!

We offer pet grooming and aquarium maintenance services in addition to the hand-selected, locally bred pets we carry in-store.

Our kittens and puppies are ALL rescues - we NEVER buy cats or dogs - there are just too many out there that need great forever homes!

We normally have good service when we visit. The staff has been generous in allowing myself and my children the opportunity to hold many of the species of animals they carry. I appreciate that they only carry rescued cats and kittens and puppies. We have bought, 2 snakes, a kitten and a beta fish as well as many different types of animal supplies from them. We also buy feeder rodents there every week. I do wish they had more pet supplies as I often have to buy from Petco and I would rather support a small local retailer. My family hopes to be a supplier of ball pythons in the future.

Five, ten, fifteen and twenty stars. I love Daryl's pet shop. I love Daryl's pet shop!!! Everything about this shop is great. From their friendly employees, and the owner Josh/ Daryl and his wife, and their beautiful baby are the best. My 2 snakes are picky eaters, but Daryl's pet shop always accommodates me. I usually call to see if they have what I need, and since they know and order extra, I can always get what I need and more. How many other places go above and beyond for their customers?? Not many, but this place is phenomenal. From snake bedding to dog treats and everything in between: Daryl's pet shop is the only place to go. I have been to another pet store in Yucaipa, and it was good; but a little too far to drive. Thanks Daryl's pet shop for being amazing, you deserve an award for being fantastic on a daily basis.

Their staff really helped me when I was trying to decide on a type of snake that I wanted. I had done some research but it was so helpful to bounce ideas off of a knowledgeable staff. Will be back again! Store was well stocked and very clean. (I heard I had to try their grooming services for my dog)

DON'T SHOP HERE!!! If you want a local independent pet store, go to Tony's in Yucaipa. Daryl's has TERRIBLE customer service-- they are only concerned about money and NOT about the customer. I have been interested in the pet rats for the past couple of days but wouldn't be able to take them home until tomorrow. Of the four rats I initially saw, two were already sold, one of which was the one I really wanted to take home. Unfortunate, but totally fine. But I went in today to show my husband the other two and get a better idea of their behavior. I was told I could hold them only when I was ready to take them home..... so I couldn't test out their temperament before I made a commitment, I guess. I was assured though that the breeder was local and they hand raised their rats. Fine, whatever. I then asked for the name and number of the breeder, since there were only two rats here and neither of which I was too sure about taking home, and I know breeders tend to take more care in assuring you find the right rat for you. The guy (tall, glasses, blondish) literally LAUGHED and said no. I said "um okay" and he laughed again and said "Why would I do that?" Well first of all so I could look into this breeder you are *assuring* me is reputable, and secondly "So that I could ask him about younger rats and more options since you only have two hairless rats here." And he looked at me like I was stupid and said "How would that benefit us??" And I use raised my eyebrows and went "Wow, okay, whatever, let's go [husband]" and stopped to turn back and say "I really don't understand why you had to be rude about it" (perhaps something as simple as "no sorry we don't share that information" would have been fine) and he looked at me with confusion and so I was like "You didn't have to say 'why would i do that and how would that benefit us' and laugh at me" as I was walking out the door because I was LIVID, and then he had the nerve to say "I'm sorry that you don't understand." No, I understood clearly. I understood that you care more about money than customers, more about money than animals finding a home that suits them, and more about money than ensuring your customers are certain about an animal before they purchase it. And, I understood that you have no idea how to at least mask your greediness behind politeness.
