Story

Burke in the Box is a dual concept restaurant spanning the 59th Street frontage of the world famous Bloomingdale’s department store. Offering a stylish, full service café on one side, and a convenient Burke in the Box take-out and eat-in concept on the other.

The 50-seat Burke Bar Café offers full service lunch and in the evening hours transforms into an intimate supper spot with a wine bar that features an extensive selection of wines by the glass and signature seasonal cocktails.

Burke in the Box, with its signature packaging of pinstripe bags and brightly designed boxes, serves hot items and boxed cold items including sandwiches, salads and pastry-chef designed desserts. This casual side has an open kitchen so customers can see the cooks at work preparing signature dishes include Cheeseburger, Flat Breads, Gourmet Salads & Wraps, French Fries and Cheesecake Lollipops.

Placed an order online and had to contact the store.  Spoke with Mike Olsen the manager who promptly got to the bottom of the issue (my fault) and corrected it.  I could hear in the background the store was extremely busy but Mike was very patient, courteous and pleasant!  I received excellent customer service which is rare these days, especially over the phone.  Thanks again for your help Mike.

So after 2 years waiting for a reply or an apology i decided to publish my email to this awful place here. Here we go: 
I am very upset with what happened yesterday, so I decided to write to let you know that I'm very disappointed with the way your employees have treated me.
Your restaurant at Bloomingdales 59th street in NYC, delivered the worst dining experience in my life.
I walked into the restaurant ( dine in full service section) around 6pm on 13 Feb., 2016. Asked the lady in front about the difference between the two sections of your restaurant and then asked for a table. Even though there were 3 empty regular tables right at the front of the entrance ( more like booth style) 2 were clean, and one needed to be cleaned, she took us further inside to a table with high chairs, and left us there.
My sister asked me to ask for another table because of back problems after 2 seconds, we didn't even set down.so i went to that lady in front again and asked for another table.
She said OK but we need to wait at the front of the restaurant until she clears one at the back!!
So we did. One minute later, exactly one minute , and another waitress (young african American) comes and asks us what she can do for us, with a face saying why are u standing here!!!!
I told her that her colleague is clearing a table for us,so she said ok.
Another 30 seconds and she looks at us and asks us to wait outside of the restaurant!!!!! 
Are you serious?? Is that how you treat your customers? Wait outside? Are we dogs or human beings??? Shame on you! 
We were two foot inside the door only, and no one was standing there so it wasn't crowded! 
And the first two tables were empty of customers but had full plates of food, must be for the workers! As i saw some walk towards the tables, so i guess we were paying customers in the bath of your workers' dinner!!!and we had to be removed.
I just said we are leaving!! 
And she said nothing! 
You should thank god that i'm a well cultured , and well educated person, otherwise i would not have left being treated in this degrading way without a fight. 
Shame on you and your customer service.

Terrible managment and staff. Was waiting for waiter 35 min to clean my table after asking them to do it twice. Have seen them cleaning other table which was empty at the time but not mine. Crazy. Then they finally brought my tomato soup with dirty spoon. Never in my life wrote any review but this time.

David Burke is not up to Bloomingdale's standard.
The facility is very crowded with uncomfortable seating. The host is not welcoming and is curt when approached. The food was adequate. Not a place would go back go.

Never again. Snooty staff,contemteously mediocre food, prices in the upper stratosphere.  Why bother.  Save your $
and  get a bodega sandwich. That would be better value,tastier, and more satisfying.
