Davis & Green Electrical is a local, woman-owned electrical contracting company serving Richmond and surrounding areas for over 25 years.

Story

George and Lynn Green started in the electrical contracting business in 1984, working out of their home each day with only one service truck on hand. In 1985, they joined forces with M.E. Davis and Davis & Green Electrical was born. Over the years, George and Lynn have watched with amazement as their small company expanded to become the industry leader it is today. With God’s many blessings and a lot of hard work and determination, the Davis & Green name has become known for quality, dedication and integrity in Virginia and beyond.

Our employees are at the core of what has made Davis & Green Electrical the successful company it is today. At Davis & Green, we believe that by investing in our employees through education, we are helping to ensure the growth and future success of both the individual and the company as a whole. We are proud supporters of ABC and the Virginia Electrical Contracting Apprenticeship Program (VECAP) and we have a solid history of employing electricians from the time they enter the apprenticeship program to when they are running a million dollar job. We had 4 bids for a whole house generator. Davis and Green came in with the best price, and the best ideas for placement, hook up, etc. They did a fantastic job with coordinating the various inspectors, plumbers, etc. And they are the nicest most knowledgeable guys you will ever meet. The generator has only been functional for 1 day, so I can't comment on longevity, but so far its great. They also did some counter/cabinetry lighting,  a different team, but equally wonderful. Recommend them highly!

Davis and Green installed my whole house generator 1.6 years ago.  I was satisfied with the responsiveness, price and installation.  But since then, the generator "walked/traveled"  on the concrete pad.  One corner was actually off the pad.  I called and was told it would be a 99 dollar fee for them to come out and fix it.  I thought that was unreasonable, as the generator was likely installed incorrectly.  The service person said he'd never seen one "walk" that much.  He came, was polite, moved the generator square on the pad.  When the invoice came, I was charged 196 dollars.  Felt that was unreasonable for the time spent, no tools, no materials, no technical expertise was required.  Installation experience was very good, but "after the sale" experience was very poor.  UPDATE---My invoice was reviewed and corrected to original quote.  I am Satisfied with that.

Had a problem with my overhead lights. The Friday before Christmas the ceiling lights quit working. Only the kitchen one worked. Called several companies and no one could come for one reason or another. Called Davis and Green and was told someone would be here but that it might be after hours. They arrived about 2:00. Found the problem in the ceiling fan, wire had come loose. H had to take the fan apart, fixed the wire, and put fan back. Was done within an hour. Very pleased with the work and service.         Called a few weeks ago for a problem. I thought it was a problem with Dominion. Told someone on phone what it was doing. They said it sounded like Dominion and to call them, If it wasn't to call back and someone would come check it out. It was Dominion but I felt that the service and help from Davis and Green was great. I will be using them for all of my electrical needs.

After calling two other electrical firms and leaving messages, that never were returned , I contacted David and Green. The person who promptly answered their phone was courteous and set up an appointment. Their workmen showed up on time to place the attachment that held the electrical service in place on my home. It had been pulled down by the weight of the snow on the trees.  Although the line was on the ground and still in service, Dominion Power said that they would not reattach the line until the attachment (eyebolt) was back in place on the side of my home. The David and Green workmen were courteous and went right to work upon arrival. The work was done in a professional manner. They cleaned up before leaving. Charges were reasonable and as anticipated. I would call them again for electrical work.

Installation of Home Generator was done as scheduled and at estimate (which was less than two other contractors).  D & G were recommended to me by a friend that had D & G install his system.  I highly recommend them to my friends (and even non-friends) .  I will recommend one of the other two to my enemies.    While I had multiple issues with the gas company contractor and plumber, D & G did what they said and when they said they would do it.
