Had a place for us and even ran cards to find us a room. Service by staff was awesome. That said, there was a drunk trying to get into our room for the first half hour we were there. Nothing violent, but he was standing there inserting and reinserting his card every few minutes.

Tge pool and lounge area was really great, fantastic live music.  The lobby was comfortable. However, air conditioning was not good, the room felt damp and smelled like mold. Location is great. The bed was not comfortable, the blankets were threadbare.  Staff were very friendly. Waffles in the morning were excellent. It wouldn't be my first choice of hotels but it is a good back up plan.

Stayed overnight before 2 hospital visits in winter.  Dubuque is hilly, the place is located in a valley and we barely made it out of the lot.  Room was clean and ok -could use better bathroom facilities update.

Had our car break down, and luckily they had one room left. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.  had a nice little bar right there and had some live music entertainment.

I only write reviews if I'm given a very compelling reason to do so. I submit to you my reason: I can say unequivocally this is by far the worst hotel I've ever been to. I honestly don't know how anyone could give this place more than a single star. I wish I could give zero. PLEASE, for anyone reading this, do yourself a huge favor and avoid this place at all costs.

We arrived and checked in, no problem. We had two rooms and upon walking in each, they reeked of overwhelming mildew. We dropped off our luggage and proceeded to walk to check out the bar and pool areas. That's where we saw a whose who of seemingly every riff-raff within two hundred miles. Guy taking in a case of Busch? Check. Shirtless fat guy drinking his own case of beer outside his room? Check. Shoeless guy with a run down car and glazed over eyes, waiting for his drug hookup? Check. I could go on with many other scenes in literally a five minute walk, but I've already wasted too much time on this dump.

The bottom line is it was so terrible we chose to swallow the money we spent for our prepaid rooms just to get away and stay at another hotel right down the street. Never have I done anything like this in my entire life. You literally couldn't pay me to stay in this disgrace of a place.
