John Dingell Transport Center is hub for Amtrak train and MDOT bus transportation in Dearborn, MI. Built in 2014 the building is full of light, clean and safe and a big improvement over the old station. The location is disability friendly, offers long term parking, charging for electric cars and alongside the center you’ll find a Tim Hortons if you are looking for a coffee or a bite to eat before your trip/waiting for your traveler.

Adorable mini-library for traveling kids!! Friendly and attentive staff. There is convenient onsite FREE parking for train travelers or those going to Detroit Metro Airport see SMART bus FAST route schedules. Safe travels!!

This is a very nice Amtrak Train Station. It's spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. It also has two levels, where you can view Greenfield Village on the second level. This is the best Amtrak Train Station in Michigan. They provide search word puzzles while you wait for your train, vending machines, and restrooms are spotless.

First time going to downtown Chicago by train.  Station is mainly just a large waiting area.  Food options are vending machines or the Tim Hortons next door.  Free parking and no issues finding a spot.  Amtrak tends to have delays but my round trip was on time.  Sure beats driving to the city and paying the crazy parking rates!

There is no telling who is in charge of the Dearborn Transit Center. Today, following missing the train due to a SMART bus not showing up, I came to the station at 10:05AM to be greeted by an Amtrak employee and custodian saying that the building was closed for cleaning. I was told it would be 10 minutes. 15 minutes later the custodian stuck a sign on the locked door saying "Closed For Cleaning". 30 minutes later and the building was still not open. Even a SMART driver couldn't get in to use the restroom! Nice building, but being closed midday seems like there's no oversight. Beware of mass transit in Detroit and surrounding areas.

Clean, online trains.

My 1st adult train trip! DM sold out tour fell in Chicago 1st & we grabbed 2 gold spot seats @ U.C. RAN PERFECTLY! The business class is NOT meant for families. Truly. Conductor was Dan, so very good @ His job on our Wolverine line. Seats could be better  bring a cushion. Toilets kept nice. Yes, you need a little balance while in motion so be careful! Got to enjoy the trip & no parking, gas, or theft to fuss over. I'm really into the train being so convenient to use. I'm already planning on another railway trip! Thank you all on my Dearborn, MI Wolverine rail line. Thx again Clifford @ the ticket counter Dearborn too. Takes good folks who enjoy the job I guess it's that simple? Right. GREAT time!

Google maps and the amtrak customer service say it's open 24 hours. It's definitely not. I don't know anyone around here. Theres nothing open. 930 at night and they'll put you out in the rain. This will be my last amtrak trip. I promise you that.

Safe place to park your car before heading on the train. The station is clean and easy to navigate. Recommend picking up the train here over Detroit. Also parking is free.

Clean, well lit station. The gentleman who worked there was friendly, professional, and efficient. He was a great start to a long trip.  My only concern is that the station only opens about a half hour before departure. Not a big deal when I departed, but not ideal on a cold Michigan morning. Even a 15 min earlier start time would make a huge difference
