The Decatur Fire Department provides the community, emergency response from fires and medical calls, to technical rescue and hazardous material incidents.

Decatur has 110 firefighters working on 3 battalions with each battalion that works a 24 hour shift. Decatur has a Fire Prevention Division that works 40 hours a week. Decatur has 7 fire stations location throughout the city.
