My husband and I stayed at Deer Run B&B some years back. It was in November, we got snowed in and couldn't get out that evening. The lovely couple that run the B&B asked us to stay for dinner with them that even, then my husband and I sat around the fireplace. We had the time of our lives, watching the deer come up to the yard at night time. I asked the lady if the light scared them away, she commented, "No it just helps them find their way". Lovely place to stay, lovely people who run it.

A wonderful place and two inspiring hosts! Beautifully located in the countryside without being too remote. Cozy and inviting guest sitting room with a wealth of interesting books. Breakfast is a special treat - in fact I can hardly remember ever having any better.

Deer Run Ranch gives "guest" a richer meaning than anywhere we have stayed. The beautiful high desert surroundings; the spacious, warm accommodations; the delicious breakfast cuisine; the freedom and privacy and the sincere hospitality of David and Muffy are unequaled. Quiet seclusion balanced with short drives to exceptional restaurants, recreational opportunities, entertainment venues and a broad range of shopping options make this a richly satisfying destination. Deer Run Ranch is our first thought when it is time to get away.

What a wonderful find! This place is very special. The wildlife viewing is terrific, huge jackrabbits, cottontail bunnies and plenty of deer. Muffy's garden is huge and well utilized in her delicious breakfast with squash and herbs in her yummy omelettes, vege goodies in her muffins and even homemade tomato juice. The rooms are clean and well appointed and ample furniture in the lovely inside sitting room complete with TV and wood stove, but better yet, lots of outside seating for wild life viewing around the pond.

For years, we have enjoyed our weekend trips to visit Muffy and Dave at Deer Run Ranch. The rooms are decorated in Native American art that they have collected personally. Sitting on the window seat, you can look over the pond that is home to ducks, bull frogs,and fish. In the cottonwoods you can see the new hawks' nests and hear the owls at night. If you are there in winter, there is a romantic wood burning stove in the common room as you enjoy reading or watching a romantic movie. In the spring, with the windows open you can smell the new alfalfa as the young deer come for their breakfast. And, speaking of breakfast, Muffy must be a gourmet cook. We get tomato juice made from the fruits of her garden. Jellies, breads, omelets are all fresh from the ingredients found here. You might well imagine with all they to offer, the could easily charge $250./night. They are of such great integrity, that even after 15 years of staying with them, the rates have managed to stay under $120. When you make a reservation, be sure to ask about their the seasonal rate specials! Muffy and Dave set the standard for inn-keepers.
