The Great American Banjo Company! I recently bought my first banjo and the staff at Deering couldn't have been more helpful. They have a showroom on site where you can try instruments, and they sell banjos direct (although at full price). They also have a repair center that will do work on banjos on an appointment basis. I took mine in for a pickup install and it was done perfectly while I waited. There's a tour of the factory offered twice a week that's extremely interesting and highly recommended.  A great company that builds all its instruments right here in San Diego!
