DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun is a 10-acre historic retreat designed and built by Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia. It is home to a colorful array of DeGrazia originals, including oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics and sculptures. We are open daily from 10:00a.m. - 4:00p.m.

Mission

The mission of the DeGrazia Foundation is the preservation and perpetuation of the artistic and cultural legacy of Marion and Ettore “Ted” DeGrazia.

I loved this place! Be sure to look at the painting titles, as they really describe what's going on and the  mood it was painted in. Also be sure to go to watch the video in a little room off the main room. It truly gives you a feel for who De Grazia was and how involved he was in his community and with all the people he loved. They also have some action shots of rodeos, etc., where it flashes to his paintings and back to the action, and you can see how he captures movement in his work. The adjacent chapel that he built is also well worth going into. I can't believe we waited so long to go there!

Built with his own hands and the help of friends Gallery in the Sun is the product of a life lived well. The grounds, structures, art, photographs and stories form a glimpse into DeGrazia's passion on his terms. It is small, densely packed and worthy of multiple visits.

I live super close to it and I like to go there. It as nice artwork. And u can walk through his old house. Nice property

When here as a child and now had the pleasure of taking my own child here to enjoy the gallery and the grounds. This museum is really a 2 part experience. First the art is great and certainly sets a southwest mood. The amount of pieces is larger than you would think looking for the outside and represents a true lifetime of work. I have some of his art in my collection and it was great to show my daughter where it came from and more about the man who made it. 

Second is the setting.  This a a nice representation of a southwest homestead style property. The gardens are amazing in the courtyard and there is even a small chapel on the grounds where people still light candles and leave requests. As a kid I would run though the grounds that were free to access with friends and always had a blast. Coming back my daughter got to do the same thing. 

Defiantly worth the time to and money for a visit if you are in the area.

Very interesting to see how creative and prolific DeGrazia was. Give yourself at least an hour or more to enjoy all the exhibits and galleries.
