Story

Dells TimberLand Campground is a family friendly campground with free activities.

Our Mission and Philosophy: At Dells TimberLand, is to provide a place for families to spend quality time together. Some families will choose to spend their day in Wisconsin Dells at the water parks or sight seeing on the Wisconsin River. Some families will choose to stay here at Dells TimberLand and participate in the free activities that we provide. Still other families will take advantage of a combination of both, spending the day in Wisconsin Dells or on the nearby Wisconsin River, then coming back for a dip in our heated pool, free Hay Rides and Movies. Regardless of where our guests choose to spend their time, it is our mission to help them make the most of their family time together.

We believe camping is an experience rather than just a place to stay. Camping, unlike other lodging, is not just a place to sleep. It is a shared experience with a sense of community. When most people walk down a road in a campground they will say, “Hi!” to their neighbor and strike up a conversation, or invite them to share a campfire. In contrast to other types of lodging, camping is the friendly choice.

Great place to camp when visiting the Dells. It's just a few minutes outside of the Dells with lots of things for families to do. We enjoyed spending our days in the Dells and our evenings at the campground swimming in the pool, playing life size checkers and chess, jumping on the inflatable and much more. Staff was super friendly and helpful, bathrooms are very clean and the place is well maintained. One thing to note, it is close to the racetracks. If hearing the noise of the races in the evening will bother you then you might want to think twice about camping here. It did not bother my family and we will definitely be back!

Dells Timberland was pretty much a let down from the moment we drove in. We pulled in and I right away noticed the place is very run down looking. It wasn't going to make me turn around and go home, however, so decided to give it a chance. My husband goes in and pays and they never asked for his ID. As we were driving down to find our RV site, one of the seasonal campers yelled, "STOP!" very rudely at us. We were confused until we saw the stop sign covered by a tree. We were driving very slowly. Then, we found our site and just as we were attempting to pull the hitch off a worker came over and said our reservations were until 2 weeks later. We had called the day before and asked for that very weekend. They took their deposit though. They had given us someone else's campsite. So we sat and waited for about 10 minutes and they decided to leave us where we were, which was fine. Additionally, we were told the total would be around $105 but the price wound up being around $118. I didn't mind since we had a pull through site and sewer hook up which we wouldn't have had with the cheaper site. However, the fire ring was half burned up and didn't necessarily look very safe and the picnic table at our site was broken. Fast forward to Saturday. Hanging out in our camper when we hear a race car.... Yep... the campground is right next to a racetrack. It was so incredibly loud we had to shout and talk over each other until 10 PM Saturday night. Also, there is a train that goes by blowing its horn multiple times per day. The workers drive around in a golf cart and then around in a van all night long patrolling. I appreciate security but they acted like we were in the hood. It was not a nice, relaxing weekend whatsoever. We had an issue with our credit card that I was able to work out with the manager and when I told him about our less than ideal experience all he said was that he was sorry that my stay wasn't what I hoped and that we should have spoken up when we didn't recognize the name on the campground map we got. I told him that my husband didn't pay attention to the name and I did point it out as we were pulling into the site... we wound up assuming perhaps it was the name of whoever made the reservations. Any issue I had the manager acted like it just wasn't their fault and it felt like he didn't really care what I had to say. I wasn't expecting any money back or anything but a little sympathy and a truly sincere apology would have been nice. I was disappointed from start to finish. Will not return.

It's nice for the kids, lots to do. However, sites have no privacy at all, very close an no brush/trees woods whatever, between. If ya don't care about the privacy or sense of being alone then it's okay. Also, there's a bunch of sites along the highway...super noisy.

We have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Lots of activities in this wooded campground. Kind of a cross between a state park and a Koa.

Fantastic for kids. Clean bathrooms. The campground is quite crowded at times, though.
