On our way from Colorado Springs to Evansville, IN and spending the night in  Concordia, MO. Ate at Dempsey BBQ and was pleasantly surprised. Huge portions and 34 ounce beer for $5.55. My wife had the pulled pork and I had the brisket sandwich. Both came with oversized portions of fries. Super delicious but could not finished the entire meal even though we did not eat the bun.

For starters, the staff is extremely nice and respectable. There were several people here, but it wasn’t overly loud. We had our food within minutes of ordering. With that being said the food itself is ok, but not for the price paid. We ordered the brisket and it tasted like roast beef. Also had a side of broccoli and cheese and the cheese tasted like velvetta. The only thing that tasted great was the Texas toast the BBQ sauce. If you’re coming down the highway and don’t want fast food it’s worth making a stop unless you can hold out for KC or Columbia. If you want legit BBQ I’m not sure if you’ll find it here or not. The ribs may be where it’s at for Dempsey’s, but not the brisket.

Trucker passing thru and this place has outstanding spare ribs! Tender smoked and delicious. Green beans and broccoli and cheese sides are highly recommended.

Great food, great price. Best baked beans ever. Grandma must have put her foot in them. Hands down, best beans.

This place knows BBQ! Fast friendly service. Reasonable prices. You can have a good meal here or eat at the fast food places for the same price and in the same amount of time. Hmmm, tough choice.
